UFC Fight Night Melbourne Gets Derek Brunson-Robert Whittaker Middleweight Matchup

An intriguing middleweight pairing has been added to the UFC Fight Night 101 lineup, as Derek Brunson will lock horns with Robert Whittaker in Melbourne on Nov. 27.

Promotion officials recently announced the bout. UFC Fight Night takes place at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and is headlined by a rematch between Luke Rockhold and Ronaldo Souza.

Brunson is currently on a five-fight winning streak, including four straight victories by first-round knockout or technical knockout. Most recently, the North Carolina native stopped Uriah Hall 1:41 into the opening frame at UFC Fight Night in Hidalgo, Texas, this past Saturday.

Whittaker has also won five straight. The 25-year-old Sydney native last competed at UFC 197, where he garnered a unanimous decision against Rafael Natal on April 23.
