UFC Fight Night Medical Suspensions: Dustin Poirier Gets 60 Days Despite Quick Win

Although Dustin Poirier fought for less than four minutes at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night, “The Diamond” is now facing two months on the shelf.
Poirier was issued a 60-day medical suspension by the Virginia Boxing, MMA and Wrestling Advisory Board, according to a Monday report from MMAJunkie.com. No specific injury was cited as the reason for Poirier’s suspension, per the report.

UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas” took place April 4 at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., and featured a featherweight main event which saw two-time title challenger Chad Mendes score a first-round technical knockout of Ricardo Lamas. Lamas was one of only three fighters on the card given a 30-day suspension.
