Although Dustin Poirier fought for less than four minutes at last weekend’s UFC Fight Night, “The Diamond” is now facing two months on the shelf.

Poirier was issued a 60-day medical suspension by the Virginia Boxing, MMA and Wrestling Advisory Board, according to a Monday report from MMAJunkie.com. No specific injury was cited as the reason for Poirier’s suspension, per the report.

Brazilian lightweight Carlos Diego Ferreira, who was knocked unconscious by Poirier at 3:45 of round one, was not given a medical suspension.

UFC Fight Night “Mendes vs. Lamas” took place April 4 at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., and featured a featherweight main event which saw two-time title challenger Chad Mendes score a first-round technical knockout of Ricardo Lamas. Lamas was one of only three fighters on the card given a 30-day suspension.
