UFC Fight Night Las Vegas Medical Suspensions: Rose Namajunas Could Be Out 6 Months

While Rose Namajunas delivered a beating to Paige VanZant at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas last week, the Grudge Training Center product could be out of action until June.

Namajunas must get her left hand X-rayed and receive medical clearance, or she will not be allowed to fight for six months. “Thug Rose” overwhelmed VanZant throughout Thursday’s strawweight main event before finally finishing her with a rear-naked choke 2:25 into the fifth round. Meanwhile, VanZant is suspended until Jan. 25 with no contact until Jan. 10.

The Nevada Athletic Commission recently released medical suspensions from the event, which took place at the Chelsea at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. In addition to Namajunas, four other fighters from the Dec. 10 card could be sidelined for six months pending medical clearance: Elias Theodorou (hand), Sergio Moraes (hand), Kevin Casey (eye), and Emily Kagan (knee).

Sergio Moraes: Requires x-ray of left hand and doctor's clearance or no contest until 06/10; minimum suspension no contest until 01/10, no contact until 01/01

Kevin Casey: Requires ophthalmologist clearance or no contest until 06/10

Emily Kagan: Requires orthopedic clearance on left knee or no contest until 06/10; minimum suspension no contest until 01/10, no contact until 01/01

Paige VanZant: Suspended until 01/25, no contact until 01/10

John Howard: Suspended until 01/25, no contact until 01/10

Johnny Eduardo: Suspended until 01/25, no contact until 01/10

Andreas Stahl: Suspended until 01/25, no contact until 01/10

Michael Chiesa: Suspended until 01/10, no contact until 01/01

Cody Pfister: Suspended until 01/10, no contact until 01/01

Omari Akhmedov: Suspended until 01/10, no contact until 01/01
