A scheduled featherweight matchup between Rodrigo Damm and Hacran Dias has been removed from the UFC Fight Night 29 card.
The promotion announced the news on Saturday, citing an injury to Damm as the reason for the cancellation. According to a report by MMAFighting.com , Damm’s withdrawal occurred due to kidney stones suffered during his weight cut. UFC Fight Night 29, which takes place in Barueri, Brazil, will move forward with 10 bouts, including the 170-pound main event pitting Demian Maia against Jake Shields. The card will air on Fox Sports 1.
A competitor on the initial season of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil,” Damm is 2-1 in the UFC. Most recently, the 33-year-old captured a split-decision over Mizuto Hirota at UFC on Fuel TV 10 in June. The 17-fight veteran has also competed under the Strikeforce and Sengoku banners.
Dias last appeared at UFC on FX 8, dropping a unanimous decision to Nik Lentz. “Barnabe” debuted in the Octagon with a three-round victory over Iuri Alcantara at UFC 147.
