UFC Fight Night 25 Draws 1.8 Million Viewers on Spike TV

UFC Fight Night 25 netted an average of 1.8 million viewers on Saturday night, Spike TV officials announced Tuesday.

The promotion’s first trip to Louisiana since 2002, the event’s main draw aired live on Spike, ranking first and second in its time slot in the Male 18-34 and M18-49 demographics with ratings of 1.6 in both categories. Headlined by a pivotal welterweight confrontation between Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger, the show posted a 1.2 household rating.

Emanating from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, the event posted a 1.2 household rating with its two-hour broadcast. The show peaked during its fourth quarter-hour, attracting roughly 1.95 million viewers.

Viewership dipped slightly for Fight Night 25 when compared to previous events this year, as Fight Nights 23 and 24 earned respective averages of 1.85 and 2.2 million viewers on Jan. 22 and March 26.

In addition to Ellenberger’s first-round technical knockout of Shields, the Spike TV broadcast saw Court McGee, Erik Koch and Alan Belcher notch respective victories over Dongi Yang, Jonathan Brookins and Jason MacDonald. Prior to the Spike telecast, eight preliminary contests were streamed live on Facebook.
