Strickland (25-5) is headlining his second Fight Night event in a row, and will hope this time it goes better than his split decision defeat to Jared Cannonier last time out. "Tarzan" has lost two straight fights, which snapped his impressive six-fight win streak. Prior to the setbacks, Strickland was coming off five-round wins over Jack Hermansson and Uriah Hall.
This marks the first UFC main event for Imavov (12-3). Currently riding a three-fight win streak, Imavov recently recorded TKO wins over Ian Heinisch and Edmen Shahbazyan before defeating Joaquin Buckley via decision. Imavov's only loss in his Octagon run is by majority decision to Phil Hawes.
UFC Fight Night 217 will air in its entirety on ESPN+ on Saturday. Prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT while the main card kicks off at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
