Francimar Barroso vs. Darren Stewart

Round 1

Stewart tries to get in Barroso’s face early with some lunging punches, then opts instead to push the Brazilian against the fence. “The Dentist” tries to control the larger Barroso with an underhook, taking a few short, open-handed strikes to the side of the face as he does. The 205ers hustle over to the other side of the cage, still locked up; when they hit the fence again, Barroso is holding his face in agony. Referee Eduardo Herdy is on the wrong side and doesn’t recognize the aparrent injury, so Stewart tees off with punches. Barroso drops to his seat at the base of the fence, and now Herdy steps in for the stoppage. Replays show that Barroso received an accidental headbutt to the jaw as the fighters jostled for position in the clinch and Stewart attempted to keep his head tight inside.

The Official Result

Darren Stewart def. Francimar Barroso via TKO (Punches) R1 1:34

Pedro Munhoz vs. Justin Scoggins

Round 1

Scoggins switches between stances a few times in the opening minute, testing the range with kicks aimed at Munhoz’s body. The Brazilian answers with three or four powerful leg kicks, then tries to capitalize when Scoggins slips on a kick. Scoggins sits up and drives on a single-leg, putting Munhoz on his back for a split second before both men scramble to their feet. Scoggins stuffs a takedown from Munhoz, who gives the American a kick to the ribs. Scoggins eats a straight left hand, replies with a solid uppercut. Munhoz tries to press forward again and gets plunked by a right-handed counter over the top. Munhoz shoots in again, trips Scoggins to the floor momentarily, but again the bantamweights are back up in a hurry. Scoggins goes to the body with a left hand, then upstairs with a right. Munhoz keeps pushing forward and thwarts a shot from Scoggins, then another. Scoggins pops Munhoz with a speedy combination, takes another kick on the leg in return. Munhoz finishes the round with a body kick and a right hand upstairs, with Scoggins blocking a shot in between.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Scoggins
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Scoggins
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Scoggins

Round 2

Both bantamweights are landing a good clip through the first minute of the round, going punch-for-punch when they stand in the pocket and throw hands. Scoggins is more active with his kicks, attacking the legs and body of Munhoz, who also has some hard low kicks. Scoggins slips on one of his kicks and tries to scramble up, but the standing Munhoz is waiting to snare his opponent’s neck. Munhoz cinches the guillotine choke and drops to guard, then rolls to full mount. Scoggins is able to roll back on top, but he can’t free himself from the choke and is forced to tap out.

The Official Result

Pedro Munhoz def. Justin Scoggins via Submission (Guillotine Choke) R2 1:55

Christian Colombo vs. Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira

Round 1

Colombo pumps his jab to keep the shorter Henrique on the outside during a slow opening minute. Henrique finally commits to pushing forward, throws a few punches to get inside and underhooks Colombo against the fence. Henrique lands a couple clean right hands as he holds Colombo on the wall, the heavyweights head-fighting for position in the tie-up. Henrique locks his hands behind Colombo’s back but soon releases, then backs up and slugs Colombo with a big left hand. Colombo steps out toward the center at the halfway point of the round; Henrique throws punches to step inside again, and this time he drags Colombo straight down to the canvas. “KLB” works his way toward full mount, gets pushed back to half guard by Colombo as they fight at the base of the fence. With 90 seconds left, Henrique begins to posture up and get busier with his ground-and-pound. After a few glancing punches, Henrique comes through with a pair of heavy elbows, slicing open Colombo’s forehead. Colombo reclaims guard and clings on tight from the bottom. Henrique backs up and allows Colombo to stand, only to grab hold of the Dane and slam him to the mat once more before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Henrique
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Henrique
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Henrique

Round 2

Henrique needs only 15 seconds to complete another takedown, and this time he lands in position for an arm triangle choke. Colombo is saved by the cage on his left side, blocking Henrique's progress. The heavyweights fight back to their feet, where they clinch on the cage for a few seconds before being separated by referee Fernando Portella. Henrique scores another effortless takedown and resumes grinding on Colombo with short punches and elbows. Referee Portella wants the doctor to look at Colombo, who's still leaking blood from his forehead. Colombo is cleared to continue, and the fight is restarted on the ground with Henrique on top. The Brazilian rides out the remaining minute in top position, wearing on Colombo but not doing enough to coax a stoppage.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Henrique
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Henrique
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Henrique

Round 3

Colombo tries to press forward on Henrique in the first 30 seconds of the final round, leading to yet another Henrique takedown at the fence. Colombo tries to hold the Brazilian in his guard, but Henrique is breaking through to posture up and land ground-and-pound. Henrique moves to half guard, goes knee-on-belly and drops a few harder punches. Colombo sits up and Henrique catches him in a guillotine. Henrique bears down on his seated opponent, putting more weight on the neck, and Colombo quickly taps out.

The Official Result

Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira def. Christian Colombo via Submission (Guillotine Choke) R3 2:12

Johnny Eduardo vs. Manny Gamburyan

Round 1

Gamburyan tries to step inside early against the taller Eduardo, who punishes the American for the attempt by bouncing a right hand off his temple. One minute in, Gamburyan is still looking for an entrance, working from the center of the cage as he follows the circling Eduardo. The Brazilian isn't much more active, but he's working in a few leg kicks as he circles. Gamburyan stings Eduardo with an overhand right, can't connect with the follow-up punch, and Eduardo looks to have shaken the cobwebs 30 seconds later. Eduardo sprawls on a double-leg attempt and resumes working off his back foot, jabs holding the shorter Gamburyan at arm's length. Eduardo slams a hard kick into Gamburyan's already bruised left leg, then dips out of range before the WEC veteran can connect with a whipping overhand right. The low kicks keep coming from Eduardo down the stretch, while Gamburyan continues to swing and miss with haymakers. Gamburyan shoots low and pushes Eduardo against the wall, where the Brazilian spins around and puts Gamburyan's back to the fence. The bantamweights split with 30 seconds on the clock, Eduardo indicating to referee Mario Yamasaki that Gamburyan was grabbing the inside of his glove. No action is taken by the ref, and the rest of the round expires without incident.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Eduardo
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Gamburyan
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Eduardo

Round 2

Eduardo lands a few more low kicks before snuffing out a Gamburyan takedown attempt. Gamburyan takes another chop to his lead leg and then steps inside with his hands low; he walks straight into an Eduardo jab which lands on Gamburyan's jaw and knock him onto his back. Eduardo stands over his prone opponent and drops rapid-fire punches until referee Yamasaki stops the bout.

The Official Result

Johnny Eduardo def. Manny Gamburyan via TKO (Punches) R2 0:46

Gadzhimurad Antigulov vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima

Round 1

Antigulov eats a punch before grabbing hold of a single-leg and driving de Lima straight to the ground. De Lima sits out and tries to scramble to his feet, but Antigulov holds him down and grabs a guillotine before pulling guard. De Lima looks to have worked himself out of trouble as he postures up, with Antigulov holding on to the choke even as de Lima threatens with side control. Antigulov puts de Lima back in his guard and wrenches the choke; this time, de Lima is forced to submit, and Antigulov jumps up to celebrate in front of a silent Brazilian crowd.

The Official Result

Gadzhimurad Antigulov def. Marcos Rogerio de Lima via Submission (Guillotine Choke) R1 1:07

Cezar Ferreira vs. Jack Hermansson

Round 1

Ferreira sets up in the center of the cage with a wide southpaw stance, tracking Hermansson as he circles around the outside. Hermansson comes back to the middle and eats a straight left from "Mutante," who moves to the outside as they hit the one-minute mark. Ferreira comes down the center with two more hard left straights, then an inside leg kick. Hermansson tries to press forward and is cut off by a kick across his midsection. Ferreira adds a knee to the body and pushes away when Hermansson tries to clinch on the fence. Scattered strikes from both middleweights down the stretch as they mostly exchange single kicks to the legs and body. With 30 seconds left, Hermansson gets his head snapped back by another left straight.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Ferreira
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Ferreira
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Ferreira

Round 2

Hermansson opens his second-round attack with a kick to the body; Ferreira slips as he backpedals into the fence, then bounces off the wall to catch Hermansson with a nifty step-in knee to the face. Hermansson is throwing more low kicks in this round, and Ferreira takes advantage by grabbing hold of a leg and driving "The Joker" to the canvas near the center of the cage. Ferreira works from Hermansson's right side in half guard, framing up an arm-triangle choke. Hermansson is holding Ferreira in deep half guard, but the choke is getting tighter by the second. Ferreira finally passes over and jumps off to Hermansson's left side, then bears down hard on the choke. Hermansson struggles to escape, first working to peel away Ferreira's arms and then trying to bury his own chin, but there is no escape and Hermansson is forced to tap.

The Official Result

Cezar Ferreira def. Jack Hermansson via Submission (Arm-Triangle Choke) R2 2:11

Sergio Moraes vs. Zak Ottow

Round 1

Moraes does well to shoulder-roll away from Ottow's early punches, but when the Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace grabs for his first takedown, Ottow shoves him away with ease. Moraes waits for Ottow to commit to a punch, then ducks underneath and grabs hold of a single-leg. Completing the takedown in the center of the cage, Moraes postures up in Ottow's closed guard and works to advance position. Ottow is trying to lock down Moraes' arms and prevent any movement on top, but Moraes gets his right arm free to drop an elbow on the face of the American. Ottow is doing well to slow the fight from the bottom, but Moraes finally passes to half guard with 90 seconds on the clock. Moraes looks to be considering an arm-triangle choke; he's forced to reevaluate his options when Ottow pushes him back to full guard. Moraes connects with a few solid elbow strikes down the stretch and finishes the round on top.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Moraes
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Moraes
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Moraes

Round 2

Moraes misses with a jump knee in the opening seconds, but he finds the mark on Ottow's face moments later with an overhand right. Ottow eats the punch and continues to step forward, looking to counter Moraes with compact punches inside. Ottow connects with a left hook counter, a body shot, now a jab. Moraes has been forced onto his back foot midway through the round, and now it's Ottow gaining some steam with his jab. Moraes is trying to clinch up when Ottow steps into range, but Ottow shoves him away each time. Ottow denies a single-leg attempt, has a left high kick blocked by Moraes' right glove. Moraes swings forward with a straight right hand and a follow-up left over the top, but Ottow eats them and fires back with a hook. Ottow gets the last say in round two with a swift kick to the midsection of Moraes.

Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Ottow
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Ottow

Round 3

Moraes comes out for the final round with renewed aggression, backing up Ottow with a jab-right straight, now another hard right down the middle. Ottow answers with a leg kick, tries to throw another and gets stumbled by Moraes with an overhand right. Ottow shoots for a desperation takedown and gets stuffed to the mat in the center of the cage. Moraes postures up in the closed guard of Ottow, who is once again working to tie up from the bottom. Suddenly, Ottow pushes Moraes away and explodes to his feet with just over three minutes left to fight. Ottow lands a liver kick, now an outside leg kick. Moraes whiffs on an overhand right, ducks low and waits for Ottow to counter, then comes back up with a heavy counter left hook. Moraes takes a left hand behind the ear and stumbles backward to the wall; Ottow tries to follow up but soon has to back away as Moraes tries to clinch. Moraes takes a few seconds to clear the cobwebs and then steps forward with a one-two, followed by another straight right hand. Ottow tries to push forward, now inside the final minute, but he's backed up by more long punches from the Brazilian. Moraes is still swinging wildly as the final 10 seconds tick down, preventing Ottow from getting inside with any truly damaging offense down the stretch.

Warlley Alves vs. Kamaru Usman

Round 1

Alves steps inside on Usman and gets a jab on the chin from the wrestler. The next time the welterweights engage, it's Alves coming over the top with a counter right hand. Usman fires a leg kick, then has to backpedal as Alves socks him with a right hand down the middle. Alves gets backed up to the fence, takes a jab on the jaw and then circles away. Usman follows his opponent around the outside, testing the range with front kicks and probing jabs. Alves pushes back to the middle with a left high kick that grazes Usman on the forehead. Now a heavy left hand connects for Alves as the 170-pounders hit the two-minute warning. Alves continues to find success with his counter-punches, now backing Usman away with a thudding kick to the midsection. Alves plunges a lovely right hand down the center, then has to wheel away after Usman comes back with an uppercut.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Alves
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Usman
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Alves

Round 2

Usman shoots in behind a left hand and tries to take down Alves with a double-leg at the fence. Alves tries to grab a guillotine as he defends, then abandons the brief headlock attempt to stay upright against the wall. Usman switches to an underhook and uses foot stomps to make things uncomfortable for Alves as they grapple on the wall. Ninety seconds into the round, Alves separates from Usman, who continues to step forward on the Brazilian. Alves keeps circling around the edge, stopping occasionally to put a front kick in Usman's breadbasket. Usman bloodies Alves' nose with a good left hand, then comes over the top with a wild right. Alves dashes to the other side of the cage, prompting Usman to beat his chest and chase after him, urging Alves to engage. Usman traps Alves on the fence and connects with an uppercut, and now the welterweights are back to clinching with 60 seconds left in the round. Usman lands an elbow on the break, chases after Alves and gets a sharp knee to the midsection, one of Alves' better strikes in the round.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Usman
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Usman
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Usman

Round 3

Usman chases Alves around the outside and disrupts the Brazilian's rhythm with some cracking right hands. Alves tries to fire back, tries to grab hold of Usman, but he's forced to sprint away once again. Usman gives chase and connects with another right hand over the top, now another. Usman shoots for a takedown and Alves jumps guard with a guillotine. Alves is jammed up against the fence without the room to complete the choke, but he finds some more space when he drops to the ground. Alves rolls onto his side to try and finish the choke, but Usman patiently peels the choke away and pulls his head free. Usman flattens out Alves in the crucifix and begins to drop punches; Alves tries to walk off the wall and flip over to escape, but Usman is too heavy on top. The second effort nearly sees Alves escape, but Usman comes back down on top and tries to cinch an arm-triangle choke. The fence is blocking Usman on Alves' left side, where Usman needs to be to finish the choke. Usman tries to finish from half guard as the final 30 seconds wind down, but Alves is saved by the bell.

Krzysztof Jotko vs. Thales Leites

Round 1

Jotko flashes a few kicks up the center as he circles the outside, trying to keep Leites on the outside. Leites dives for a double-leg, gets clipped by a hook from Jotko on the way inside, but the Brazilian manages to clinch up at the fence. After 30 seconds in the clinch, Jotko gets an underhook and spins Leites around, exiting the tie-up with a slashing elbow strike. Leites walks after the southpaw and touches him with a right hand over the top. When next Jotko steps in to strike, Leites times a perfect shot and drives the Polish fighter to the canvas. Leites tries to pass from half guard to side control, but the lanky Jotko pushes him out and establishes butterfly guard. Jotko rolls to his knees and Leites goes over the top with an armbar attempt. Jotko stacks up and works his arm free, and now it's Jotko in top position with just about one minute on the clock. Leites is working methodically underneath, wrapping himself around Jotko, who looks to be freezing up a bit on top. Jotko gets busy in the final 10 seconds, landing five or six short punches to the head of Leites just before the round expires.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Leites
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Leites
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Leites

Round 2

Leites shoots an early double-leg and drives Jotko against the fence, where the taller fighter is able to underhook Leites' arms and escape to the center. Leites tries to catch hold of a kick, can't grab the leg but does force Jotko to hop away again. Leites ducks under a high kick and pushes Jotko to the wall, where the Brazilian tries a hip toss. Jotko blocks it and slugs Leites on the way out; Leites grabs hold and the middleweights wind up in the whizzer, and now it's Jotko using the position to drag Leites to the mat. Jotko puts a forearm across the throat of Leites as he stays heavy in the Brazilian's closed guard. Leites wraps up from underneath, but Jotko breaks the posture at the midway point of the round and sits up and connect with a pair of punches. Jotko continues to grind his elbow across Leites' face until the 1:45 mark, when referee Mario Yamasaki orders the fighters back to their feet. Jotko slugs Leites with a right hook, then ducks under the counter and wraps up Leites for a bodylock takedown. Leites holds Jotko in deep half guard as they enter the final minute of the round. Jotko sits up and lands a thumping right hand, then another shot that raises an instant welt on Leites' forehead.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Jotko
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Jotko
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Jotko

Round 3

Leites comes out swinging big punches, but it's Jotko doing the more effective work in the early going, mixing up his strikes to Leites' body and head. Jotko connects with a big left hook but slips to his knees as he pushes forward. Leites underhooks Jotko's arms as the Polish fighter pushes him to the wall, then uses the arms to peel Jotko away. Jotko backs away to the other side of the cage, where Leites catches up with him and looks to clinch on the fence again. Jotko gets underhooks this time and forces Leites to the ground, and now it's Jotko working from top position with half a round remaining in the bout. Leites is trying to escape out the back door, but Jotko keeps heavy pressure on his neck and tees up the Brazilian's head for a few right hands. Jotko forces Leites to his back again, trapping him in a crucifix this time. Measured but steady ground-and-pound from Jotko keeps Leites flattened out and the referee satisfied with the activity on the mat. Inside the final minute now, Jotko may have this one sewed up as Leites seems to have all but surrendered, seemingly content to ride out the closing seconds on his back. Jotko feeds him a few final punches and then stands over his prone opponent with hands on hips as time expires.

Claudia Gadelha vs. Cortney Casey

Round 1

Gadelha comes forward swinging wide right hands which don't land clean but succeed in backing up Casey to the fence. Casey scores with a right hand down the middle in her next exchange with the shorter woman, but Gadelha pushes away when Casey tries to clinch. Casey charges at Gadelha again, and this time the American gets the clinch she wants on the fence. Gadelha quickly spins her around, steps back and slugs Casey with a left hook to the jaw. Gadelha tries the left again, can't find the mark, but she ducks under Casey's next punch and plows her into the mat. Casey throws up her legs to try an armbar, forcing Gadelha to stand and allowing Casey to clip her with an upkick. Back to the mat comes Gadelha, now working in Casey's full guard with 90 seconds on the clock. Gadelha looks to pass, can't advance and instead peels off for a leglock. Casey defends, pushes Gadelha away and stands, then tries a throw when Gadelha comes back to clinch. Gadelha rolls her over as they hit the ground, and it's the Brazilian who finishes the round on top.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Gadelha
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Gadelha
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Gadelha

Round 2

Casey clinches up and is once again spun against the wall by Gadelha, who backs up and slugs Casey with a pair of hard punches on the break. Casey tries to jab her way forward on the shorter fighter, can't find the mark with her punches but finds the mark with a kick to the body. Again, Casey steps inside to clinch, and again it's Gadelha taking advantage and getting the outside position. Gadelha scores with an elbow as she separates, takes a moment and then dives on a double-leg at the midway point of the round. Casey gets dumped to the ground, then quickly allowed to stand as Gadelha jumps back to her feet. With 90 seconds on the clock, Casey steps forward on Gadelha but doesn't connect with anything as she steps into the pocket. Gadelha circles away, making Casey give chase; "Claudinha" changes levels for another easy takedown near the center of the cage.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Gadelha
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Gadelha
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Gadelha

Round 3

Casey throws a right hand down the center and gets backed up by a quick pair of hooking counters from Gadelha. It's slow going through the first minute, but Gadelha finds the mark with her hands again as Casey steps forward with her chin high, inviting Gadelha's right hand. Gadelha shoots low and slams Casey to the ground, landing in side control. Gadelha stands up and Casey grabs for her legs, prompting Gadelha to kick the American in the face. Casey was still seated on the floor when the kick landed, making it a clearly illegal strike. Referee Portella pauses the action while Casey writhes on the ground, seemingly in a daze. Casey looks unsteady as she slowly goes from her knees to her feet while leaning up against the fence. Casey is cleared by the cageside doctor and, after a minute's rest, the fight resumes with no point deduction for Gadelha. There's just over three minutes on the clock as Gadelha pushes forward, backing up Casey to the fence and attacking with knees to the body. Casey tries to clinch and work some dirty boxing, but she's thwarted once again by Gadelha, who pushes the American to the fence and then trips her to the canvas. Casey tries a guillotine from the bottom, but Gadelha peels it away and both women climb back to their feet with 90 seconds remaining. Casey is bobbing and weaving as she steps forward, seemingly with gas still left in the tank, but she's not really letting go of her hands. Consequently, Gadelha is able to step inside and hit another trip takedown. This time, the Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt passes to full mount and frames up an arm-triangle choke just before time runs out.

Thomas Almeida vs. Albert Morales

Round 1

After a tense opening minute, Almeida comes over the top with a standing elbow counter to a Morales low kick. Morales pumps a quick jab, forcing Almeida to take a step back, but the Sao Paulo native comes back to deliver a chopping leg kick. Morales slips an overhand right from Almeida and comes back with a nice counter right hook. Morales is starting to connect with some frequency now, forcing Almeida onto his back foot. The last combination from Morales seems to have woken up Almeida, who's starting to up his offense with heavy right hands aimed at Morales' face. Almeida eats a sequence of punches near the fence and wobbles out to the center of the cage, then tries to slow Almeida's roll with a takedown attempt. Almeida scrambles back to his feet, but not before Morales can attach himself to the Brazilian's back. It looks for a moment as if Morales may have a rear-naked choke setup, but Almeida peels away the hands and shakes Morales off his back. It's Almeida finishing the round on a strong note, forcing Morales to flee under fire from a torrent of punches.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Almeida
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Almeida
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Almeida

Round 2

Almeida stalks Morales from the center of the cage, moving the American around the edge of the cage during the opening minute of round two. Almeida's breakthrough comes with an overhand right-left hook combination that puts Morales on rubber legs. Almeida follows up with a cracking left hook, then a right hand to the body. Morales is propping himself up against the fence as Almeida lands half a dozen shots, sending a few off Morales' arms. It's a nasty left hook to the body which finally sends Morales slumping to the mat and forces referee Eduardo Herdy into action.

The Official Result

Thomas Almeida def. Albert Morales via TKO (Punches) R2 1:37

Ryan Bader vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

Round 1

Referee Mario Yamasaki is the third man in the cage for tonight's 205-pound main event. Bader opens with a kick to the lead leg of the southpaw Nogueira, who works from the center while the speedier American darts around the outside. Bader threatens to change levels, gets his head off-center to dodge a Nogueira jab but eats a left hand from the Brazilian moments later. Another left hook from Nogueira forces Bader to circle away. Nogueira gives chase, but as he does, Bader changes levels and hits a takedown at the fence. Bader works from top position with three minutes on the clock, the Brazilian crowd already hassling him for not doing enough on top. Bader scores with a few short left hands, then flattens out Nogueira to work from half guard. Nogueira rolls inside, perhaps looking for an arm, but his submission hunting gives Bader an opportunity to land some thudding right hands. Bader has Nogueira's left arm trapped between his legs, opening up the veteran to even more punishment. Nogueira gets the arm free but takes a heavy elbow on the face, then several more to the side of the head. Bader is going hard for the finish here with one minute left in the first frame; he's already busted open Nogueira, who's now bleeding from the bridge of his nose. Bader slows his attack in the final minute, finishing a dominant first round in side control.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Bader
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-9 Bader
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Bader

Round 2

Bader eats a left hook from Nogueira as he pushes inside, but the wrestler is nonetheless able to grab hold of "Minotouro" and drag him to the floor at the base of the fence. Nogueira struggles to his feet, gets tossed back to the mat, stands again and gets dragged down once more. Now it's Bader in half guard on Nogueira's left side with more than three and a half minutes left in the frame. Bader drops short punches to the body and head while Nogueira tries to tie up and negate the space from underneath. Nogueira draws a deep breath after absorbing another elbow to the face, then rolls to his knees and tries to climb back to his feet. Bader tries to slip around the back and apply a rear-naked choke, but Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Nogueira tucks his chin and escapes. Bader moves to ride position with 90 seconds on the clock, then gift-wraps Nogueira's left arm behind his back as they roll. Nogueira quickly frees the arm but winds up on his back once again, with Bader dropping right hands from half guard. The partisan crowd doesn't care for it, but it's another decisive round in favor of Bader.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-8 Bader
Brian Knapp scores the round 10-8 Bader
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Bader

Round 3

Bader eats a left hand from Nogueira, fires back with a nice jab and a low kick before shooting for another takedown. Bader easily puts Nogueira on his back once again, this time nearer to the center of the cage. The former collegiate wrestler sits up in Nogueira's half guard and drops sporadic right hands, in between laying an arm across the throat of the ex-Pride ace. The pace of the ground-and-pound from Bader has slowed considerably as they reach the halfway point of the round and the fight, but he is nonetheless dominating Nogueira on the mat. With 90 seconds left, Bader turns up the heat, throwing heavy shots to Nogueira's body and head. Nogueira seems to have given up, simply absorbing punishment while shifting slightly on his back. Referee Yamasaki tells Nogueira to fight back, but Bader's punches are knocking his head from side to side. Yamasaki steps in to halt the contest even as a semi-conscious Nogueira continues to throw short punches in retaliation.
