Russia’s Volkov had a two-fight knockout victory streak crumble at the hands of Ciryl Gane in June, when he came up short and lost a unanimous decision. Before then, he put Walt Harris and Alistair Overeem away, both in the second round. “Drago” charged into the UFC and strung together a four-fight win streak, with a knockout of Fabricio Werdum to thrust him into a title eliminator with Derrick Lewis. Volkov celebrates a finish rate of 76 percent in a career that began in 2009.
Tybura, out of Poland, is currently riding the longest win streak of his own career since he started off at 12-0. Along the way, Tybura has defeated the likes of Sergey Spivak, Ben Rothwell and Harris, with his most recent win a knockout of Harris in June to make it five in a row. “Tybur” posts a stoppage rate lower than his foe’s at 68 percent, but it is one that has lifted due to recent performances.
UFC 267 goes down on “Fight Island” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Oct. 30. The twin-title tour will conclude with a light heavyweight championship rumble between Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira, while the co-main event comes in a bantamweight rematch between champ Aljamain Sterling and ex-titleholder Petr Yan. A pivotal lightweight encounter will also serve on the main card as Islam Makhachev makes a run up the ladder against Rafael dos Anjos.
