The UFC released a list of medical suspensions from the event to mixedmartialarts.com on Tuesday. Because there is no sanctioning body for MMA in Australia, the Las Vegas-based promotion acted as its own regulator for the event.
Four other fighters are facing potential six-month suspensions
following the event, including reigning strawweight queen Joanna
Jedrzejczyk, who defended her crown with a five-round unanimous
verdict over Valerie
Letourneau in the co-main event. Jedrzejczyk must have her
right hand cleared by an orthopedic doctor and provide an x-ray
before she can return to action. The Polish fighter said on
Saturday that she
thought she broke her hand during the bout.
The others facing lengthy layoffs from UFC 193 were: Letourneau (head), Robert Whittaker (left ankle, right hand) and Jared Rosholt (right tibia/fibula).
