UFC 191 Medical Suspensions: Arlovski, Mir Among Five Fighters Facing 6 Months

Heavyweight co-headliners Andrei Arlovski and Frank Mir top of a list of five fighters from UFC 191 who are facing potential six-month suspensions following Saturday’s event.
The Nevada Athletic Commission on Tuesday released a list of medical suspensions from UFC 191. Arlovski, who defeated Mir via unanimous decision to earn his fourth straight UFC triumph, must have his right hand cleared by an orthopedic doctor or he will be sidelined until March 5. Mir, meanwhile, must also have his right hand examined and cleared before he can return to action.

Finally, Joaquim Silva must receive an orbital CT scan and medical clearance or he will be on the shelf for six months. Silva defeated Nazareno Malegarie via split decision in the evening’s opening bout.
UFC 191 Medical Suspensions:
John Dodson: Suspended until Oct. 6 with no contact until Sept. 27 due to small laceration on nose
Andrei Arlovski: Must have right hand x-rayed within three days; if not done within three days or if positive must have orthopedic doctor clearance or no contest until March 5. Minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 6 with no contact until Sept. 27 for left eyelid laceration.
Frank Mir: Must have right hand cleared by orthopedic doctor or no contest until March 5. Minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 6 with no contact until Sept. 27 for eyebrow laceration.
Jimi Manuwa: Suspended until Oct. 21 with no contact until Oct. 6. Corey Anderson: Must have dental clearance or no contest until March 5 for loose teeth.
Jan Blachowicz: Suspended until Oct. 21 with no contact until Oct. 6.
Alex Chambers: Must have MRI of left knee to rule out ACL injury or no contest until March 5.
Francisco Rivera: Suspended until Oct. 21 with no contact until Oct. 6.
Clay Collard: Suspended until Oct. 6 with no contact until Sept. 27 for tough fight.
Joe Riggs: Must have CT of face/orbits and must be cleared by ENT or oral maxillofacial surgeon; minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 21 with no contact until Oct. 6.
Ron Stallings: Suspended until Oct. 6 with no contact until Sept. 27 for facial lacerations.
Joaquim Silva: Must have an orbital CT scan and clearance from an ENT doctor or no contest until March 5; minimum suspension no contest until Oct. 21 with no contact until Oct. 6.
