UFC 189 Salaries: Conor McGregor, Chad Mendes Top Payroll with $500K Checks

Featherweight headliners Conor McGregor and Chad Mendes earned the largest paychecks at UFC 189, with each man pocketing a guaranteed $500,000 purse.

McGregor did not receive a win bonus for his interim title-winning second-round stoppage of Mendes, who would have also earned a flat $500,000 with a victory, according to figures released Monday by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. UFC 189 took place July 11 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The next highest earner on the card was UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler, who pocketed $300,000 for punching out Rory MacDonald ($59,000) in the fifth and final round of their championship affair.
