Vitor Belfort is one of five fighters that is facing a potential six months on the sidelines following UFC 187, according to medical suspensions released by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Tuesday.

“The Phenom” fell to Chris Weidman via technical knockout in the opening round of their co-main event contest at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this past Saturday, as a barrage of ground-and-pound brought his night to a close 2:53 into the frame. Belfort must have his shoulder cleared by a doctor or he cannot compete for 180 days.

Both Andrei Arlovski and Travis Browne could be out for up to six months following their memorable heavyweight showdown, which Arlovski won via TKO 4:41 into round one. Arlovski must have an MRI of his left shoulder cleared by a doctor, while Browne must receive physician clearance for a broken nose.

John Makdessi suffered a broken jaw due to a Donald Cerrone head kick in the second frame of his loss on Saturday. “The Bull” will not be able to compete until that injury is cleared. Additionally, Nina Ansaroff, whose strawweight bout against Rose Namajunas was canceled when Ansaroff became sick with the flu, must receive medical clearance before her next fight to avoid a six-month suspension.
