A late scratch to the UFC 183 preliminary card has pushed back the event’s start time, as Jim Hettes has been forced out of his featherweight bout against Diego Brandao due to an undisclosed illness.
Ariel Helwani first reported the news, and Ultimate Fighting Championship officials confirmed Hettes’ withdrawal shortly thereafter. Hettes and Brandao were scheduled to compete as part of the UFC Fight Pass prelims.

Both fighters entered the event coming off a loss. Brandao suffered a technical knockout loss against Conor McGregor last July, while Hettes was finished by Dennis Bermudez at UFC 171.
Later on Saturday night, UFC Vice President of Media Relations Dave Sholler announced that Hettes had been released from the hospital.
