Estevan Payan vs. Robbie Peralta

Round 1

Payan sets the range with a few jabs before taking an outside leg kick from Peralta. “Problems” rushes Payan with a flurry of punches, landing a nice right hand around the outside and tripping Payan to the canvas near the fence. Peralta comes down in Payan’s half-guard but can’t do much before Payan scrambles to his feet. Peralta pins Payan against the cage with an underhook, but Payan scores with knees inside and looks to turn him around. Instead, Peralta trips Payan to the mat and winds up in the same position, this time near the center of the cage. Payan catches Peralta trying to mount and sweeps him underneath, and now it’s Payan in side control on Peralta’s right side, dropping short elbows and forearm strikes to the head. Payan opens up to land a right hand, then comes in tight to keep Peralta’s back on the ground. Payan hears the 10-second clapper and sits up to score with punches and elbows in the closing moments of the round.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Payan
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Payan
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Payan

Round 2

Peralta lands a leg kick and has a couple power punches go off Payan’s arms. Payan spins his man around with a leg kick and dodges some more punches from Peralta, who is striking wild now. Leg kicks are still landing for Peralta, but Payan is countering his wide punches. After a minute of this, Payan grabs a body lock and again tosses Peralta to the ground. Peralta gets half-guard this time, though Payan is still able to sit up and land some hard shots. Peralta pushes off and scrambles up with about 90 seconds left in the round; he rushes Payan against the fence and takes a knee to the gut. The featherweights trade in the clinch, Payan throwing knees and Peralta driving right hands to the body. Payan closes out the round with another half-dozen knees to the gut.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Payan
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Payan
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Payan

Round 3

Peralta comes out throwing bombs and stings Payan with a left hook upstairs. Payan is backpedaling, staggering toward the fence, and Peralta chases after him with more heavy shots. Payan hits the ground after a left to the chin and a right on the temple, Peralta lands a couple more punches, and referee Yves Lavigne steps in to call this one off.

The Official Result

Robbie Peralta def. Estevan Payan via TKO (Punches) R3 0:12

William Macario vs. Bobby Voelker

Round 1

Voelker swings and misses with an overhand right, while Macario lands a leg kick and sticks a straight right through Voelker’s guard. Another straight right stings Voelker, and Macario follows it up with an uppercut as Voelker backs up toward the fence. Macario scores with a left hook around the outside, a knee to the body and more right hands. Voelker is pawing at his bloodied nose and backing up, looking to counter the Brazilian’s heavy, accurate strikes. Halfway through the round, a crisp, straight right hurts Voelker, sending “Patolino” in to damage him with more knees to the gut. Voelker is swinging and missing as Macario keeps his distance, then comes back in to drive Voelker to the mat with a double-leg. Voelker pops back up, still trapped against the cage until Macario releases. Voelker charges ahead with a three-punch combo, evaded by Macario with good head movement.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Macario
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Macario
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Macario

Round 2

This round picks up where the last left off, with Voelker throwing wide punches and Macario backing up to dodge them. Macario’s offense has dropped off with Voelker’s increased pace, so the Brazilian hits a takedown to slow things. Voelker gets back up and escapes the clinch, but he eats a pair of stiff jabs from Macario as he moves in to slug. Macario changes levels and backs off just as quickly, perhaps looking a little tired midway through the bout. Voelker, though, is cut open, spraying blood from the bridge of his nose. Now, Macario is turning it on; he backs Voelker up against the cage and unloads with elbows and uppercuts, dropping Voelker to his knees. Voelker gets back up to take more punishment, right hands and standing elbows to his already bloodied face. Referee Mario Yamasaki calls time -- he wants the doctor to take a look at Voelker, who is a bloody mess. Voelker keeps trying to take off Macario’s head in the last minute of the round, but Patolino just backs up and counters, hitting a takedown just before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Macario
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Macario
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Macario

Round 3

Voelker is already covered in blood before the round begins, with all the plasma leaking from a small, deep cut between his eyes. Macario pushes him against the fence, but Voelker escapes just as quickly. Macario backs him up and further bloodies him with straight right hands, then shuts down a double-leg attempt. Three minutes left in the fight and Voelker continues to come forward, bombing with punches which mostly go off Macario’s forearms. Halfway through the round, Voelker catches a finger in the eye, but he tells ref Yamasaki that he can fight on. Macario switches to left-handed jabs and oblique kicks now, wheeling away when Voelker presses in to strike. Macario hits a takedown with 70 seconds on the clock, but again Voelker stands immediately. Macario lands one last takedown in the closing seconds, though Voelker hops up to finish the fight throwing hands.

Sherdog Scores

Siyar Bahadurzada vs. John Howard

Round 1

Bahadurzada meets Howard in the center and pumps his jab to keep “Doomsday” at range, then thwacks low with a hard leg kick. Howard answers with a leg kick, leaps in with a short right hand and hops back out. Bahadurzada circles to his right and throws a hard left high kick, blocked by Howard’s forearm. Howard is looking for a left hook-overhand right combo, but he twice pulls up short. Stuffing a takedown attempt, Bahadurzada stands up Howard and pushes him against the fence to land hard knees inside. The welterweights pummel on the cage and separate with just over two minutes to go. Both men swing and miss with wide punches before Howard tries for another takedown, this time running Bahadurzada across the cage and down to the mat. Howard keeps tight on top, his right leg trapped in Bahadurzada’s half-guard. Bahadurzada gives up his back, but Howard doesn’t get both hooks in and loses the position as Bahadurzada stands. Howard slugs Bahadurzada with a short left hook, answered by “Siyar the Great” with a leg kick before the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Howard
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Howard
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Howard

Round 2

Both men come out swinging, but the flurry of activity quickly dissipates as Howard moves the fight to the fence. They separate and Howard whiffs on a left hook before pushing Bahadurzada to the cage and getting stuffed on a single-leg. Bahadurzada hits a takedown of his own 90 seconds into the round, then stands up when Howard looks for a triangle underneath. Howard lands a leg kick, Bahadurzada scores with a knee to the gut and pushes the American against the cage to land another knee up the middle. Howard explodes off the fence with a pair of punches, then decks Bahadurzada with a one-two and a leg kick. Both guys are looking tired, with Bahadurzada holding his hands low and Howard sucking in big breaths. They clinch up and Bahadurzada lands a knee before Howard pops him with a pair of uppercuts. Howard lifts up Bahadurzada in a fireman’s carry and slams him onto his head, but Bahadurzada scrambles back to his feet as time runs out.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Bahadurzada
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Howard
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Howard

Round 3

Howard pops Bahadurzada with a left hook, circles out and shoots for a double-leg against the fence. Bahadurzada stuffs it, so Howard changes to a single-leg, then releases and clips Bahadurzada with three or four hooking punches. Howard backs up, leaving Bahadurzada standing against the fence with hands on hips. They clinch briefly and Howard scores with more uppercuts on his tired opponent. With three minutes left in the fight, Howard hits another takedown and lands in Bahadurzada’s guard. Howard stands up and drops hard right hands on Bahadurzada’s unprotected face. Bahadurzada nearly gives up his back, but again Howard can’t secure control and comes back down in half-guard. Punches and elbows land for Howard while Bahadurzada looks to tie up and squirm out from underneath. With 90 seconds to go, Howard steps into full mount and Bahadurzada rolls over. Howard secures back-mount this time, rolling to his back and fishing for a neck crank or rear-naked choke, while Bahadurzada throws punches over his shoulder to the final horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Howard (29-28 Howard)
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Howard (30-27 Howard)

Manny Gamburyan vs. Dennis Siver

Round 1

Siver lands a pair of leg kicks before Gamburyan blitzes him with a flurry of heavy punches. Siver blocks most of the shots and throws some in return to get Gamburyan to back out. Siver hits a takedown in the center of the cage and Gamburyan immediately swings his hips to try for an armbar. Gamburyan nearly secures Siver’s left arm but can’t get his right leg across Siver’s face and winds up with Siver in his guard. The featherweights scramble up and Siver loops a left around the outside, then sends a straight right down the middle. Gamburyan can’t seem to find a way inside on the taller man as Siver keeps circling quickly around the outside. With 80 seconds to go, Gamburyan hits a takedown and lands in Siver’s open guard. Gamburyan leans back for a heel hook, but Siver sits up and drops some hard left hands, forcing Gamburyan to give up the leg lock. Siver hops on Gamburyan’s back as they stand and cinches up a body triangle. Gamburyan is controlling Siver’s left arm with both hands, leaving Siver free to punch away with his right hand until the horn.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Siver
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Siver
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Siver

Round 2

Siver lands a chopping leg kick, then a second which takes the base out from underneath Gamburyan. “The Anvil” stands back up and waves Siver forward, then shoots in and takes Siver down, slipping out of a guillotine in the process. Siver picks away with short right hands as he holds Gamburyan in his guard. One of Gamburyan’s punches opens up a nasty cut on Siver’s forehead, and Gamburyan passes to half-guard shortly afterward. Gamburyan tries to posture up and land some elbows but he’s kicked away by Siver, who pops back up midway through the round. Siver blocks a spinning back kick, comes forward and kicks Gamburyan in the gut, then follows it with a three-punch combo. Gamburyan hits another takedown against the fence with just under one minute remaining, works to keep Siver there and finishes the round with some more elbows on top.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Gamburyan
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Gamburyan
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Gamburyan

Round 3

Gamburyan comes in too close and falls down as he tries a spinning kick; when he hops back to his feet, Siver clips him with a hard left hook and a low kick. An inside leg kick from Siver strays high and clips Gamburyan on the cup, but Gamburyan is quick to recover. When they resume, Siver hits a quick takedown and thumps Gamburyan’s body with punches from top position. Gamburyan leans right and tries to isolate Siver’s left arm while Siver keeps busy with right-handed punches. Gamburyan tries to stand and has his back taken by Siver, who rolls him over backward and locks up a body triangle. Gamburyan gets to his knees with Siver still punching away, and Siver rolls him back to the side with 90 seconds on the clock. Gamburyan gets back to his knees, near the fence this time, but he still can’t shake Siver, who’s now hunting for a rear-naked choke between punches. Time runs out with Siver in back control, and this one is headed to the scorecards.

Michael Johnson vs. Gleison Tibau

Round 1

Tibau slaps high with a right kick to the side of Johnson’s face, then backs off as Johnson throws a heavy left hand. Tibau catches Johnson with a left of his own soon after, then keeps coming forward to press the American against the fence. Tibau catches the leaning Johnson with a knee to the head before they separate. Johnson lunges forward with an uppercut and gets beat to the punch with a right hook, but it’s Johnson rocking his fellow southpaw with a right hook shortly afterward. An inside leg kick lands for Johnson but the offense slows as the round enters its final 90 seconds and the lightweights circle one another. Tibau tries for a single-leg but can’t bring Johnson down, instead clinching against the fence for the final 20 seconds.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Tibau
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Johnson
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Tibau

Round 2

The lightweight lefties continue trading punches early in round two, with Johnson sticking and moving better than he did in the opening frame. The result is Tibau chasing after Johnson, and when Tibau steps into the pocket to throw a wide, looping right hook, Johnson comes over the top with a left hand to the temple. Tibau hits the deck and has his lights turned out by Johnson’s follow-up punches, sending referee Yves Lavigne into action.

The Official Result

Michael Johnson def. Gleison Tibau via KO (Punches) R2 1:32

Uriah Hall vs. Chris Leben

Round 1

Hall drops Leben with a knee right off the bell, but Leben climbs back to his feet and starts trying to close the gap. Hall stays on his back foot, throwing counters against the southpaw and drawing a warning from ref Steve Mazzagatti to keep his outstretched hand closed. Leben is already busted up from the early knee, sporting serious redness underneath his right eye. A quick, hard jab from Hall opens up a cut beneath Leben’s other eye, and Hall continues moving backward and picking his shots against Leben’s ineffective brawling. Leben lands a leg kick but eats a left hook, then takes a leg kick and a short, standing elbow from Hall. In the final seconds, Hall drops Leben against the fence with a straight right and tries to pound him out with heavy punches, but Leben is saved by the bell. Between rounds, Leben tells his corner he is done and the fight is waved off.

Chris Nelson scores the round 10-8 Hall

The Official Result

Diego Brandao vs. Dustin Poirier

Round 1

Brandao comes out headhunting, throwing bombs at the head of Poirier, who moves backward to dodge the shots and comes back with some leg kicks. Brandao changes tact and digs a left hook to Poirier’s body, while Poirier continues to connect with low kicks. Brandao clips Poirier with a right hand, has a knee caught and gives Poirier a few more punches on one leg. Poirier goes down after a right hand over the top, maybe caught off balance as he threw a kick to Brandao’s body. Brandao hits a takedown with two minutes on the clock, but Poirier is back on his feet a split second later. Poirier sneaks a right hand through, sticks his fist in Brandao’s face and gets clocked with an overhand right from the Brazilian. Another takedown goes for Brandao, this time with about one minute left, and again Poirier is quick to post and stand up. Poirier keeps Brandao on the fence and scores with a right hand, a left, an elbow and three body shots. Poirier hits a quick takedown and then allows Brandao back up to slug him again, and Brandao hits the ground. Poirier swarms with more punches as referee Mario Yamasaki looks on from inches away. A series of hammer fists knocks Brandao unconscious, and Yamasaki calls an end to the bout.

The Official Result

Dustin Poirier def. Diego Brandao via KO (Punches) R1 4:54

Jim Miller vs. Fabricio Camoes

Round 1

Camoes opens up with a kick inside the lead leg of southpaw Miller, then presses in to clinch with Miller on the fence. Miller greets him with a knee to the body and stuffs the takedown attempt, shoving Camoes away to resume their tentative striking in the center of the cage. Miller blocks a high kick but eats a hook, then lands a head-down left over the top. Miller presses forward and is greeted by a flurry of punches and a head kick from Camoes, but Miller catches the kick and uses it to pull Camoes to the canvas. Camoes scrambles up and lands a takedown of his own, winding up in Miller’s closed guard. Miller goes to rubber guard, then isolates Camoes’ right arm and swings his legs around to extend the limb. Camoes slows down and stands still, postured up and trying to extract his arm. Miller has it stretched out with both arms wrapped around Camoes’ leg, and Camoes is forced to tap out.

The Official Result

Jim Miller def. Fabricio Camoes via Submission (Armbar) R1 3:42

Josh Barnett vs. Travis Browne

Round 1

Browne comes out with a kick and a left hook, then pulls Barnett into the Thai plum. It’s Barnett who lands a knee inside, though, and the heavyweights separate quickly. Barnett changes levels, gets shut down, eats a knee and tries for another double-leg. Browne delivers a series of quick, hard elbows to the side of Barnett’s head and knocks out the former champion in the exact same fashion he did Gabriel Gonzaga.

The Official Result

Travis Browne def. Josh Barnett via KO (Elbows) R1 1:00

Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate

Round 1

After a brief exchange of punches, Rousey grabs hold of Tate and throws her to the ground. Tate pops back up and is held against the fence, where Rousey works the challenger’s thighs with knee strikes. Rousey catches a kick and trips Tate down again, then lifts and drops Tate when she threatens with a triangle. Tate sweeps to the top and winds up in Rousey’s guard, and Rousey immediately begins angling for an armbar. Rousey traps Tate in a loose, unclosed triangle and drills her with elbows. Tate goes to a knee as Rousey tries to tighten the triangle, but “Cupcake” explodes out and the women are back on their feet. Tate scores with a left hook, Rousey answers with a right and Tate’s nose is busted open. Rousey hits a throw and nearly lands on top in full mount, but Tate rolls her over and allows the champ back to her feet. Rousey tosses Tate right back to the mat and lands a couple punches before allowing Tate to stand again. They finish the round clinching on the fence, and Rousey is headed to the second round for the first time in her MMA career.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Rousey
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Rousey
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Rousey

Round 2

Rousey opens round two with a straight right, answered in kind by Tate before she’s tripped to the ground. Rousey eats an upkick, then another and allows Tate to stand. Seconds later, Rousey turns a Tate takedown attempt to another toss. Tate gets up, Rousey grabs a leg and they go back to the ground with Rousey nearly taking side control. Tate hooks the leg and tries to sweep, can’t and instead gets to her knees, then back to her feet. Rousey presses her against the fence with an underhook and looks for another trip in between knees to the legs and right hands up top. Rousey whips Tate back to the floor, this time coming down in side control. Tate throws up her legs, trying for a reverse triangle, but Rousey slips out and sits up for an armbar. The champ can’t get the arm, but she does roll into full mount and drops a couple punches before stretching out Tate’s left arm. Tate withstands the submission and gets to her knees, where Rousey roughs her up with more punches. Now it’s Rousey locking up a reverse triangle, but Tate has her left hand blocking Rousey from completing the submission. The round ends with Tate on her knees, stuck in the triangle.

Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva

Round 1

Herb Dean is the third man in the cage for tonight’s middleweight main event, with judges Junichiro Kamijo, Chris Lee and Patricia Morse-Jarman scoring at cageside. Weidman feels the range with a front kick and a jab before grabbing hold of Silva’s lead leg and pulling him down near the base of the fence. Silva pops back up and delivers a knee to Weidman’s breadbasket, and the champ holds Silva against the cage. A short right hand behind the ear drops Silva, who falls to his back and has to dodge heavy ground-and-pound from Weidman, who’s looking to finish early. Silva survives the scare and holds Weidman in his guard, while Weidman tries to break the position by pulling Silva’s head forward in a can opener. Weidman comes over the top with elbows, then lays his forearm across Silva’s throat. Silva scores with some backhanded punches from the bottom as Weidman continues to try and break the Brazilian’s posture. Weidman stands with 20 seconds left, trickling blood from his nose, and dives back down with one last punch to end the round.

Sherdog Scores

Jordan Breen scores the round 10-9 Weidman
TJ De Santis scores the round 10-9 Weidman
Chris Nelson scores the round 10-9 Weidman

Round 2

Lots of feints and feeling out in the opening minute of round two, with Silva on his back foot and Weidman coming forward. Weidman thuds a hard kick to Silva’s midsection, and Silva answers with a leg kick which Weidman checks. Silva’s leg breaks grotesquely as the kick is checked, and “The Spider” falls to the ground in agony. This one ends in bizarre and gruesome fashion, and Chris Weidman retains his UFC middleweight title.

The Official Result

Chris Weidman def. Anderson Silva via TKO (Leg Injury) R2 1:16
