Johny Hendricks may not have walked away from UFC 167 with the welterweight title around his waist, but “Bigg Rigg” nevertheless received a $50,000 consolation prize for his efforts.

Hendricks and champion Georges St. Pierre were awarded “Fight of the Night” honors for their five-round headliner at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Earlier on the pay-per-view broadcast, Tyron Woodley earned “Knockout of the Night” for his violent stoppage of Josh Koscheck, while Donald Cerrone closed out the evening’s preliminary card with a “Submission of the Night”-winning performance against Evan Dunham.

St. Pierre and Hendricks battled for 25 minutes in the evening’s main event, with the momentum shifting at multiple points throughout the bout. Though the decision was a contentious one, St. Pierre did enough to retain his belt in the eyes of two judges, marking his ninth consecutive title defense.

Earlier, Woodley left nothing to chance in his welterweight clash with Koscheck. The Strikeforce vet fought aggressively from the get-go, catching Koscheck several times with his powerful right hand before planting a powerful hook on the former title challenger’s jaw that sealed the deal.

Cerrone, meanwhile, used a variety of strikes to bloody Dunham in the opening period before catching his foe on the ground in round two. As Dunham drove through a deep half-guard to reverse “Cowboy” onto his back, the WEC veteran locked up a tight triangle choke and forced Dunham to submit 3:49 into the period.
