UFC 164 Bonuses: Anthony Pettis, Chad Mendes, Hyun Gyu Lim, Pascal Krauss Bank $50K
Four men took home post-fight bonuses from UFC 164 on Saturday night, including new UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.
Pettis earned “Submission of the Night” honors for tapping ex-champ Benson Henderson in the evening’s main event at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

Though Henderson initially looked to press Pettis against the cage and chop at his legs, “Showtime” methodically gained separation and went to work with blistering body kicks. Following a failed cartwheel kick attempt, Pettis fell to his back and Henderson quickly followed him down. In the blink of an eye, Pettis swiveled his hips and locked up a tight armbar, forcing “Smooth” to verbally submit and relinquish the UFC lightweight title late in round one.
Mendes appeared one step ahead of Guida for the duration of their pivotal featherweight showdown, outmaneuvering the Jackson’s MMA rep for two full rounds before clipping “The Carpenter” with a solid right cross that put him on the mat. Though Guida popped back to his feet, he would soon again hit the canvas, as “Money” drilled him with another right and finished the fight with ground-and-pound.
Lim came out aggressive from the get-go in his welterweight meeting with Krauss, winging hard hooks before catching the German with a straight right that caused him to flop face-first to the mat. Though Krauss managed to regain his vertical base, Lim voraciously pursued his wounded opponent before ending his night with a violent knee to the face.
