It appears as though Tyrone Spong’s hiatus from mixed martial arts will continue into 2016.

Spong has not competed in MMA since Aug. 10, 2013, when he took a unanimous decision over Angel DeAnda at WSOF 4. His first WSOF foray came at the promotion’s debut event, where he knocked out Travis Barlett in the opening frame of their light heavyweight encounter.
Spong was previously scheduled to fight Mike Kyle at WSOF 22 on Aug. 1 but suffered a sprained MCL and was forced to withdraw from that contest, as well. WSOF 26 takes place at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas and is headlined by a featherweight championship clash between Lance Palmer and Marcos Alexandre Campos de Almeida.
