Not surprisingly, Tyron Woodley has been set as a considerable favorite in a proposed welterweight title defense against Nate Diaz.

A Woodley vs. Diaz pairing is far from official, but according to ESPN.com, the UFC is considering the booking for its Dec. 30 card in Las Vegas. UFC 219, which takes place at T-Mobile Arena, does not currently have a main event in place.
Woodley last appeared at UFC 214 on July 29, when he stifled Demian Maia in a five-round decision triumph. The 35-year-old Missouri native is unbeaten in his last six bouts, with a majority draw against Stephen Thompson at UFC 205 the only blemish on his record during that time.
Diaz, meanwhile, hasn’t competed since a majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 in August 2016. A trilogy bout against McGregor could prove to be lucrative for both fighters in the future, although it currently appears that the promotion is working toward a lightweight title unification bout between McGregor and Ferguson.
