Two New Bouts Added to UFC on Fox 29 Lineup in Arizona

A middleweight contest pitting Tim Boetsch against Antonio Carlos Jr. and a women’s flyweight showdown between Shana Dobson and Lauren Mueller have been added to the UFC on Fox 29 bill.

The Las Vegas-based promotion recently confirmed the pairings. UFC on Fox 29 takes place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., on April 14 and is headlined by a lightweight tilt between Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje.

Boestch last appeared at UFC Fight Night 112, where he knocked out Johny Hendricks with a head kick and punches 46 seconds into the second round of their June 25 bout. “The Barbarian” has won three of his last four UFC bouts.

Carlos Jr., meanwhile, enters the matchup on a four-bout winning streak. Most recently, “Cara de Sapato” tapped out Jack Marshman with a rear-naked choke in the first frame at UFC Fight Night 119 on Oct. 28.

Dobson, 28, lost on the opening day of “The Ultimate Fighter 26” reality show before scoring a second-round stoppage against Ariel Beck in her official Octagon debut at the “TUF 26” finale. Mueller will enter her first promotional foray after outpointing Kelly McGill-Velasco at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 8 on Aug. 29.
