As expected, Todd Duffee will receive his desired showdown with Frank Mir.

The heavyweight bout was officially announced as the headliner for UFC Fight Night in San Diego during Wednesday’s episode of UFC Tonight. The event takes place at the Valley View Casino Center on July 15 and also includes a lightweight matchup pitting Tony Ferguson against Josh Thomson.

Duffee returned to the Octagon after nearly two years on the sidelines at UFC 181, where he scored a 33-second knockout of Anthony Hamilton. The 29-year-old is 9-2 as a professional, with all of his victories coming by way of knockout.

Mir, meanwhile, ended a four-fight losing streak at UFC Fight Night on Feb. 22, when he stopped Antonio Silva 1:40 into the opening stanza of their headlining encounter. All but two of the ex-heavyweight champion’s 26 bouts have taken place inside the Octagon.
