Titan FC 33 Play-by-Play: ‘Green vs. Holobaugh’ Results & Updates


Sherdog.com is pleased to offer live play-by-play of Titan Fighting Championship 33 at approximately 8:30 p.m. ET. The card features four title bouts from the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in Mobile, Ala.

Andy Uhrich vs. Bobby Cooper

Round 1

Uhrich opens the bout with an inside leg kick. Cooper rushes forward with a kick to the body, but he gets too close and Uhrich is able to wrap him up and take him down. Uhrich lands a few knees to the body before taking his opponent’s back. Cooper is eventually able to turn out of danger, and but Urich passes to side control. Uhrich continues to apply pressure and lands an elbow. Cooper is attempting to push off the fence, but he’s a little too far away from the cage to make it work. Cooper moves to his knees while Uhrich lands some punishing hammerfists. Now Cooper is back on his back, with Uhrich on top in half guard. Uhrich is staying busy with periodic punches. Uhrich lands some elbows to the thigh. Uhrich peppers Cooper with short punches to the ribs. Cooper is doing his best to land punches from his back, but he isn’t hurting Uhrich. The frame ends with Uhrich on top.

Round 2

Uhrich pumps his jab and then goes up high with a head kick. Cooper gauges distance with kicks, but nothing lands. Cooper connects with a crisp jab. Uhrich lands an outside leg kick. Cooper with a front kick, while Uhrich continues to attack with leg kicks. Uhrich with a kick to the body. Cooper fires a jab and ducks under a follow-up offering from Uhrich. Uhrich pressures and lands a hard kick to the body, then goes down low with a leg kick. Neither fighter is putting any kind of significant combinations together at this point. Uhrich rushes forward with a punching combination but Cooper moves out of harm’s way. Cooper connects with an outside leg kick. Copper is picking up his aggression as the round wanes. An accidental kick to the cup from Cooper leads to a momentary pause in the action. Cooper comes out firing jabs at the restart and Uhrich changes levels for a takedown. Cooper sprawls successfully as the horn sounds.

Round 3

Uhrich advances on Cooper with leg kicks while Cooper takes the perimeter and leg kicks. Uhrich shoots in for a takedown, gets in on a single, elevates his man and dumps him. Uhrich cradles Cooper briefly, landing knees to the body before flattening him out and taking side control. When Cooper tries to scramble up, Cooper sinks his left hook and works for a rear-naked choke along the fence. Cooper escapes to the bottom of side control and eventually fights his way back to the feet. Both men open up with their punches, glancing the target, but it's Cooper with a bit more pop on his punches. Uhrich leg kicks and circles, then pops a quick one-two between Cooper's guard. A clean right hook sneaks though for Cooper in an exchange with under a minute to go. An Uhrich head kick is blocked, but he lands a stiff jab. Cooper lands two quick lefts as Uhrich gets momentarily trapped on the fence, wiping blood from his nose and mouth. Cooper lands two more punches, spraying some blood from Uhrich's face before the fight ends.

Marcus Edwards vs. Adam Nijem

Round 1

Edwards starts the contest off by stalking Nijem and attacking with an outside low kick. Just over 50 seconds into the fight, Edwards baits Nijem into a wild swinging contest, then ducks under and hits a double-leg takedown. Nijem tries to shrimp away and get back to his feet, but Edwards trips him back down, dives on his back and sinks his hooks in quickly. He gets a deep rear-naked choke and turns Nijem over, tightening his squeeze and putting his opponent old cold. Nijem's eyes roll back in his head, letting referee Bobby Wombacher know that this one is a wrap. Wombacher interevenes and breaks up the hold and the unconscious Nijem convulses briefly before regaining his senses.

Brian Davidson vs. Estevan Payan

Round 1

Davidson changes stances a few times to get a feel for Payan, who circles the outside of the cage and leg kicks. Davidson gets started with some hard outside low kicks of his own, backing Payan up. Payan swings wild and Davidson launches a spinning back kick, allowing the striking to open up a bit. Unfortunately, a Davidson inside low kick goes low on Payan, prompting referee Jason Herzog to call a brief pause. Davidson attacking with head kicks and punch rushes now, but when he gets overly aggressive, Payan clinches and slams him to the mat, setting up in full guard. Davidson tries to kick him away but Payan lands swooping right hands on top, up against the fence. With just over a minute to fight in the round, Davidson snakes up the fence, escapes and lands a hard left cross, then a left body kick moments later. Two hooks to the body land for Davidson, who clinches up and unloads with a series of knees to the body. Payan responds in kind until the round expires.

Round 2

Payan tries walking down Davidson, but Davidson backs him up and runs him across the cage with a long combination. The Missouri native is advancing on Payan now, chambering his hips and showing off a variety of exotic kicks that are nowhere near their taret. Both men glance with left hooks. Payan pushes out of a clinch and lands a roundhouse kick upstairs. Davidson comes barreling at Payan and eats punches and knees. Davidson throws a spinning wheel kick that misses it target and his follow-up punches are mostly blocked by Payan. Both men showing some fatigue now and Payan's mouth is hanging open, but he lands a low kick that stumbles Davidson up. Payan lands an inside low kick and Davidson returns with one of him own. A spinning back kick for Davidson pushes Payan back but does no real damage. Each lightweight takes turns rushing the other man but can't land. They clinch and Davidson sneaks in a nice uppercut before the round ends.

Round 3

Both men throwing tired, single shots now to start the final round. Payan lands two consecutive left hooks on the retreating Davidson. Neither can gain any significant advantage throwing isolated power shots at one another, but Davidson lands a left hook on the lunging UFC veteran. Davidson throws a right hook-left hook that Payan blocks, but Payan runs face-first into a right hand a moment later. Payan sticks a jab in Davidson's face, but Davidson returns with two outside low kicks in what turned into a lukewarm sparring match. Davidson partially clips Payan with a head kick, but can't stop his momentum. They come together in the clinch and Payan runs Davidson into the fence until there is mere seconds to go, killing any real chance for last-minute offense.

Belal Muhammad vs. Keith Johnson

Round 1

Muhammad takes the center of the cage and probes the distance with low kicks. Johnson starts to get a feel for his attack and counters with two- and three-piece combinations when Muhammad loads up. Muhammad starts loading up his lead left hook to ward off Johnson's rushing attacks. Just past the halfway point of the round, Johnson drives in on a single-leg takedown, pushing Muhammad into the fence. Muhammad gets head control and an underhook, turning Johnson against the fence and pounding him briefly. The Alabama native regains his feet, but Muhammad now changes levels for a takedown, clasps his hands and dumps him along the fence with a minute to go in the first round. Johnson regains his feet with 30 seconds later without taking any serious damage, pressuring Muhammad backwards with jabs and kicks until the round ends.

Round 2

Johnson continues to rush Muhammad with robotic, two-handed punching, glancing his target. Muhammad isn't seriously rocked, but he doesn't like the direction of the fight, so he body locks Johnson and puts him on the mat for a format. Johnson regains his feet and runs Muhammad back into the cage, looking for a takedown of his own. Muhammad capably defends his foe's single-leg attempts while landing short punches and elbows to the head. The Chicago-based fighter escapes from Johnson's clutches and looks to stand again, trading body kicks with his rangier opponent. Johnson shoots another single in the middle of the cage, getting Muhammad's leg and running him into the far side of the cage, but getting nowhere on the actual takedown. Muhammad, again, takes his time defending while pounding on Johnson's dome. They separate with just over a minute to go, Muhammad walking an increasingly tired Johnson to the fence, dinging him with hooks to the head and body. Johnson lands a slow left body kick and Muhammad rips him with a left hook to the body. Seeing the efficacy, Muhammad smashes another left hook to the liver. It takes a minute to process, but Johnson goes down to a knee and Muhammad looks to finish. Somehow, Johnson gets back to his feet, but the round ends with the Alabaman busted open under his left eye and absorbing heavy fire.

Round 3

A right cross lands for Muhammad on a retreating Johnson, followed by a pair of leg kicks. Johnson is obviously a much more stationary target than the previous two rounds, but still tries to fire back with heavy shots when Muhammad launches right crosses and body kicks. Glancing overhand right registers for Muhammad, and moments later, he fakes another right, then tags Johnson with another left to the body. Johnson shoots and is denied once more. Muhammad is tired now too, pushing his punches, but still making contact. Hard right lands for “Remember the Name” and Johnson shoots fruitlessly again. With 30 seconds to go, Muhammad tries to flurry, but the energy level isn't there. Johnson cracks him with a right hand and Muhammad ends the bout, flashing a spinning wheel kick nowhere near its target.

Anthony Gutierrez vs. Austin Lyons

Round 1

Both men try to establish their jab early, but can't make clean contact. Gutierrez uses his body kick to back the advancing Lyons off, but Lyons starts to look to counter off of the kicking attempts. A left hook-right cross combo lands for Gutierrez. Two more left body kicks for Gutierrez, then a right outside low kick and a jab. Gutierrez isn't landing damaging shots, but his activity is picking up and he's forcing Lyons to play defense. Lyons chases Gutierrez with a left hook but can't land. Hard outside low kick by Lyons. The pace slows with 60 seconds to go, each man cautiously potshotting from just outside of real striking distance. Gutierrez finally steps inside and lands a nice right hook before the horn.

Round 2

The first 90 seconds of the second stanza features ineffectual jabbing and kicking, that spell broken when Gutierrez comes in behind that jab and lands a clean left head kick that gets Lyons' attention. More jabs and feints in both directions now, neither committing to any strikes with real power and seldom getting through their opponent's guard. Gutierrez times Lyons swinging and lands two outside low kicks. This is turning into a ho-hum sparring session. Lyons tries to turn up the intensity with a four-punch combos, but whiffs air and eats a counter right from Gutierrez. “Sharkbait” returns moments later, cracking Lyons with an overhand right behind a double jab.

Round 3

The final round begins in a familiar pattern, with Gutierrez and Lyons feinting, jabbing and kicking, mostly at the air. Gutierrez finally puts a clean right body kick into Lyons' bread basket, and the Memphis fighter responds in kind with a left hook to Gutierrez's body. Gutierrez gets through with another sneaky right, and Lyons digs to his body again. Two minutes to fight. Lyons jabs to Gutierrez, who parries his lead hand before unleashing a heavy left roundhouse kick that drops its target with ease. Lyons is on his back and referee Jason Herzog gives him a deserved moment to recover, but Gutierrez is on him in a flash with a heat-seeking right hand that serves as the official coffin nail. A brutal knockout ends an otherwise lukewarm contest.

Titan FC Bantamweight Title Fight:
Walel Watson vs. Brett Johns

Round 1

The rangy Watson jabs and leg kicks from distance, but is caught off guard and stumbles to the mat briefly under the pressure from Johns. Watson regains his feet and goes back to working from range. Johns sneaks in with an overhand left. Hard outside low kick from Watson, but Johns sneaks in a counter. Watson fades to the center of the cage, then pounces with a kick. Johns blows through it and dumps him on the mat, but winds up briefly ensnared in a guillotine. Johns escapes with 90 seconds left in the round and sets up in full guard. It's all body punches and chopping elbows from Johns. With 20 seconds to, Watson throws up an armbar attempt and Johns unloads fury with a wild salvo of elbows, hurting Watson, gashing him open in multiple spots and forcing the “Gazelle” to scramble back to his feet to recover.

Round 2

Watson lobs a four-punch combo and a head kick, to no avail. Johns gets in on a single, then high-crotch lifts Watson, slamming him on the mat. Watson looks for a quick triangle, but Johns drive his shoulders through and breaks Watson's posture. Hard right elbow by Johns. The Welshman stays busy from full guard with his short chopping shots and hammerfists while Watson rocks from side to side, looking for an angle on a submission attempt. Another armbar attempt from the UFC veteran gets him a hard Johns elbow to the face, so he kicks the Cage Warriors champ away. Watson tries to scramble to his feet, but “The Pikey” dives on his back and sinks his hooks while Watson is standing. Worse, Johns gets the rear-naked choke sunk in before Watson can defend himself in any way. Watson is trapped and taps out while piggybacking Johns. Cage Warriors bantamweight champion Brett Johns adds the previously vacant Titan FC bantamweight crown to his mantle.

Cody Bollinger vs. Andre Harrison

Round 1

Bollinger catches a front kick and sweeps Harrison’s other leg out from under him. Harrison gets right back up. Bollinger lands a pair of kicks to the body and Harrison goes for a high-crotch, then a body lock. Bollinger responds by looking for a takedown of his own, but Harrison reverses it and winds up in top position. Bollinger gets up and lands a knee to the face with Harrison against the fence. Bollinger landing punches to the thigh and head with Harrison pressed against the fence. Harrison turns Bollinger around and slams his foe to the canvas. Once again, “The Cali Cowboy” is able to get to his feet in relatively short order. Harrison slips on a kick and then drives forward for a takedown. He eventually gets it and goes from north-south position to side control. Bollinger is using the butterfly guard with his back to the fence. Harrison fires of a right hand and then a few short elbows from top position. Bollinger throws an elbow from his back. Harrison continues to work to advance position, while Bollinger lans a couple hammerfists to the ribs from his back. “The Bull” closes out the frame on top.

Round 2

Bollinger backs up Harrison with a front kick to the gut. Harrison misses a kick to the body. “The Cali Cowboy” fires off a combination and Harrison bullies the WSOF vet against the fence on a double-leg attempt. Harrison wrestles him to the ground. On the mat, Bollinger is unable to connect his hands on a guillotine attempt. Bollinger threatens with a leg lock attempt, but Harrison is successfully able to counter the maneuver. “The Bull” is back on top now, landing periodic ground-and-pound while controlling position. Harrison cracks Bollinger with a big elbow. Bollinger finds enough space to get back up and he pushes Harrison against the cage. Bollinger throws a jumping head kick with Harrison’s back against the fence, but it’s blocked. Harrison hurts Bollinger and follows him to the ground, where he unloads several short elbows to the head. The pace slows and Harrison goes back to grinding away from above. He works from inside Bollinger’s half guard, landing punches to the body as the horn sounds.

Round 3

Harrison inches forward and lands a leg kick while avoiding Bollinger’s answering combination. Harrison backs Bollinger up with a combination and is now pressing Bollinger against the cage. “The Bull” once again drags Bollinger to the mat. Bollinger posts, gets up and briefly slams Harrison down. The Bellmore Kickboxing Academy product is right back up, however, and he is driving for yet another takedown. Bollinger throws a few “Hapa” elbows and Harrison lets go. Moments later, he shoots again and this time he gets Bollinger down. Bollinger stands, but he can’t separate from his adversary. He is able to turn and put Harrison against the fence, but neither man is landing any offense of note from this position. Jason Herzog recognizes this and orders the combatants to separate. Bollinger picks up the pace with a spinning back kick, which allows Harrison to take him down. Harrison lands several hard knees to the shoulder from the front-headlock position. Harrison switches to a short-arm guillotine, but Bollinger rolls to his back to escape the hold. Thirty secons remain and Harrison is in control, moving from north-south to side control and back as the fight concludes.

Titan FC Lightweight Title Fight:
Pat Healy vs. Kurt Kinser

Round 1

Kinser clinches immediately and hits a headlock throw into side control, then sitting into scarf control. Healy tries to turn into his foe and take his back from the bottom, but Kinser keeps moving and controlling Healy's head, looking for a scarf hold armlock. Kinser gets the Healy's arm locked between his legs and rather than cranking the neck, lands ground-and-pound while sinking the figure-four deeper around Healy's arm. Healy eventually slips out and Kinser gets in on a single. He defends and they come back to the feet, but Kinser rips off a chain of punches that rock Healy. Kinser drives the UFC and Strikeforce vet back to the cage and they dirty box inside. Healy lands a knee to the body, then they slash at one another with elbows. Healy digs hooks to the body and tries to get off the fence, but Kinser turns him around and drives for another single. Kinser trips Healy's other leg and finishes this one with just over 30 seconds to go. Kinser pins Healy's knees together, but can't hold him down. Healy gets back to his feet, eating more leather from his unbeaten foe.

Round 2

They quickly come together in the clinch and Kinser bulls his way to another takedown along the cage. He passes by Healy's legs, trying to get to side control, but Healy snakes up the fence and gets a brief takedown of his own. Kinser pops back up quickly, but eats a barrage of left hands. Kinser shoots on Healy now and gets sprawled on, but won't stop driving until he turns Healy's hips over and puts him on his seat. Healy digs his left arm in for a guillotine, but there's not much there. Kinser keeps grinding him, trying to pull him away from the fence. The former Indiana University wrestler finally gets him off the cage and gets to side control, but Healy escapes again. It's rinse and repeat, with Kinser doggedly getting another takedown along the fence while Healy tries to use the cage to stand back up. With two minutes to go, Kinser drags Healy to the mat and tries to take his back, but Healy escapes and forces Kinster to go belly down, sinking one hook and boxing Kinser's ears. With 60 seconds left in the round, Healy works to flatten Kinser out with just one hook, but can't succeed. He chips away with left hands, grinding him until the horn.

Round 3

A uppercut and left hook score for Healy when Kinser begins his usual rush for the clinch. Kinser eats it and then gets to Healy's leg along the cage again. Healy whacks him with a few right hand, while looking to figure-four Kinser's arm. He tries to sit back for a kimura, but Kinser squats on it. Kinser keeps grinding without landing much in the way of strikes, allowing Healy to slide up the fence once more. At the halfway mark of the round (and the fight), Healy sprawls on another desperate Kinser takedown, but again, the Oregon-trained fighter is forced to his back eventually before using the cage to stand back up. Healy sprawls on a single-leg takedown but Kinster trips his inside leg and drives him to the mat. Unfortunately for Kinser, he goes headfirst into an inverted. triangle choke It's not as deep as it could be, but he's definitely trapped in a precarious position with Healy attacking his free left arm. Healy rides out the position until the round expires.

Round 4

Kinser comes headlong at Healy as usual, eating jabs, hooks and uppercuts. When he finally gets to clinching distance, Healy feeds him a knee before stuffing another single-leg attempt. Kinser reshoots and so Healy locks up the exact same inverted triangle position he had in the last round. This time, Healy gets a better figure-four grip on Kinser's left arm and cranks a kimura behind his back. The undefeated Indiana native walks his body over Healy's and escapes, but he can't hold Healy on the ground in the scramble. They get back to the feet in close, where Healy lands knees and the punches to the body while Kinser catches his breath. With two mintues to go in the round, they trade position along the fence, both digging knees to the bread basket. Healy shoots and pulls Kinser's legs out, but can't hold him down. Kinser scrambles his way to the top and gets a rear waistlock. Healy tries to roll free but momentarily gives up full mount before getting to guard along the fence. Healy targets another kimura, which keeps Kinser occupied until the horn.

Round 5

Kinser runs his way into the clinch again, but it's Healy who claims top position now, with Kinser on bottom grasping at a kimura. Kinser goes belly down on the attempt, allowing “Bam Bam” to take his back with both hooks in and over four minutes to fight. Kinser is just holding on now, controlling Healy's wrists and not allowing him to get a serious look ar a rear-naked choke. Healy lands a half dozen left hands, then tries to surprise Kinser with a choke attempt, but can't quite sink it. Kinser is simpy in survival mode with 90 seconds left in the title fight. Healy digs for another rear-naked choke and locks on a body triangle. Again, Kinser pins both wrists and just tries to avoid being choked. Healy hits him with hammerfists from the back, whcking away until the contest comes to a close.

Titan FC Heavyweight Title Fight:
Jon Madsen vs. Chase Gormley

Round 1

Gormley begins with lazy kicks and Madsen cracks him with a heavy right hand on a counter. Gormley stumbles back and Madsen is all over him with rights and lefts, swinging wild hooks and uppercuts in pursuit of the knockout. Two huge right uppercuts rock Gormley's head up. The compromised fighter shoots a desperate double-leg takedown and gets Madsen on the ground briefly, but can't hold him down and eats more punishment before they separate. After a brief breather, Madsen rushes Gormley, only to run into a knee. Madsen begins circling to his right around the stationary Gormley in the middle of the cage. Gormley tries to bull rush Madsen for a takedown, but Madsen easily sidesteps him and denies it. Gormley throws an awful Superman punch and walks into a right hand, which allows Madsen to open up with another half dozen winging punches. Gormley manages to absorb most of them on the arms and soldier on, though his right eye is now busted and bloodied. A southpaw Madsen lands a left cross, but throws the follow-up right hook so hard he nearly falls over. Gormley lands some tepid low kicks before the horn.

Round 2

The first 40 seconds of the round play out without consequence, until an orthodox Madsen cracks Gormley with an overhand right and forces him to shoot. Madsen denies him and the return to striking distance. Gormley continues to push his luck with powerless leg and body kicks. Gormley finally steps into a hard outside low kick to Madsen's lead left leg. Both men miss overhand rights, but Madsen pulls his back first and lands a short right hand afterward. Gormley is beginning to chase Madsen with punches, and while his hands are unsuccessful, he's punctuating the combinations with stronger leg kicks. Both men are breathing heavy as the time ticks down in the second round.

Round 3

Gormley stays busy with low kicks, but neither man is making heavy contact now. Southpaw Madsen tries to time an inside leg kick and counter, but can't quite reach the larger man. Madsen casts a looping left and glances. He bulls into a takedown and tries Gormley to the floor. Gormley pops right back up, but Madsen drills him with a spate of left hands on the way back up. The pace slows to a crawl again at the halfway point of the fight. Gormley lands two reaching jabs and Madsen shoots in on a single, which Gormley sprawls on. The Californian sits on Madsen's head and hammerfists away, blocking his re-shot as well. Gormley punches Madsen's ribs and head while sprawling out against the cage, but they're stuck in this position with virtually no movement. Gormley gets his back off the fence and turns around just before the horn. This fight is getting ugly.

Round 4

Gormley throws an outside low kick and eats a hard right hand. Madsen comes back with another, then a hard knee and another flurry. Gormley's left eye is getting messy. He shoots on Madsen and Madsen gets an overhook and ragdolls Gormley to the mat, tossing him to the side. Gormley shoots a double and trips Madsen's front leg out, but Madsen pops right back up. Gormley kicks and Madsen winds up on another overhand right, but can't get it there fast enough. Right check hook lands for Madsen, who responds by putting his hands on his knees and staring at Gormley momentarily. Gormley keeps pressuring Madsen, who swats him in the left eye again, then shoots and takes him down. Madsen drives Gormley to the center of the cage and sets up on top in half guard with two minutes to go in the frame. Gormley turtles and gets back to his feet, but eats four big hooks from a winging Madsen. Gormley is stumbling around on his feet as Madsen unloads on him. Gormley's getting hit clean and he's being busted up, but Madsen just doesn't have firepower to put him away. After another Madsen punch rush, referee Jason Herzog calls for a break to have the ringside physician examine Gormley's cuts, particularly his left eye. Gormley is wiped off and they resume with just over a minute to go in the round. Off the restart, Gormley shoots and tackles Madsen to the mat by the fence. Madsen gets to his knees, but Gormley boxes his ears and punches his ribs.

Round 5

Gormley lumbers slowly around the center of the cage, sticking his jab out occasionally and firing outside low kicks at southpaw Madsen's lead right leg. Gormley puts a jab on the tip of Madsen's nose. Gormley reaches with a one-two that can't quite make its target. The weariness in both men's strikes is obvious. Nonetheless, it's the Californian with far more output, continuing to touch Madsen's right side with leg kicks and body kicks. Madsen ducks into a short right uppercut while looking to clinch and is forced to back off, but Gormley chases him down with another leg kick. Gormley shoots and Madsen shrugs him off, glancing with a two-piece, then slugging Gormley with a hard right. With 30 seconds to go in this vacant heavyweight title contest, Gormley kicks low and Madsen shoots. Gormley easily defends, basing out until the horn.

Round 1

Holobaugh throwing his one-two combo to get close to Green, but when the southpaw Green lands a quick right-hand counter, the UFC veteran backs up. Holobaugh begins lobbing outside low kicks to the lead left leg of Green, trying to stumble him up, but “The Predator” keeps his composure and pops his jab out. Two minutes left in the opening round. Green doubles his right hand and backs the advancing Holobaugh off again. Green lands a low kick then clinches, tripping Holobaugh to the mat. Holobaugh instantly looks for an armbar, but Green escapes, pounds him and resets in full guard. Holobaugh throws his hips up again, initiating a scramble and getting back to his feet. Holobaugh throws a lunging right hook that hits nothing but air.

Round 2

Holobaugh continues to lob leg kicks and big hooks at Green, but he's just not in the neighborhood. They clinch and exchange short punches, but separate before anything substantial lands. Holobaught lands a right kick to the body, then puts the roundhouse upstairs. Holobaugh touches Green with a low kick but there's no follow-up. Another low kick, then a right kick to the body land for the Hammond, La., native. Green lands a right hand and grabs onto a waistlock against the fence, but can't capitalize before Holobaugh breaks his grip and escapes.

Round 3

Green continues to jab and look for counters while Holobaugh keeps his distance, having some success kicking. Holobaugh's nose is leaking blood. Holobaugh comes inside and Green doubles his right hand, but it's mostly blocked. Holobaugh shoots a right cross that smacks Green right as he steps back, knocking him down momentarily, but he's not seriously hurt. Holobaugh chases Green down, cracking him with a right body kick and shooting in. Green sprawls and pushes his challenger away. “The Predator” continues circling from side to side, catching and parrying Holobaugh's lead hand. Green gets a quick takedown of his own and sets up on top, but Holobaugh moves to a deep half guard and stands up as soon as Green tries to pass.

Round 4

The challenger keeps up his forward pressure on Green, but still can't reach him with punches. Green doubles his jab and lands it on a kicking Holobaugh. Both men are working their jabs actively, but Green is trapping Holobaugh's hand and Holobaugh is showing off good heavy movement, creating a statemate. Holobaugh launches another body kick and eats a jab. Green throws a left body kick, but it's partially blocked. Both featherweights continue feinting, bobbing and weaving over the last minute of the round, with nothing of substance landing.

Round 5

After more conservative striking for the opening 45 seconds of the final round, Green shoots a half-hearted single, which Holobaugh denies. The challenger chases Green down and plants a left hook on his liver, but Green tags him in the face with a jab a moment later. Holobaugh lands a chopping left, hooking around the guard of Green. Clean jab by Green, who bulldozes Holobaugh down briefly with a powerful shot, but can't keep his man down. Holobaugh pops up and Green holds a rear waistlock, drilling him with knees to the back of the thighs. Holobaugh spins and escapes with 80 seconds to go. He runs Green down and touches him with a five-punch combination, though the brunt of it is blocked. Holobaugh continues to pressure the retreating Green, who covers up and circles as the challenger chases him. Green tries to shoot in, but Holobaugh defends and sprawls out until the final horn.
