UFC and Strikeforce veteran Fabricio “Morango” Camoes will tangle with experienced “Wildman” Thomas Denny in a 155-pound bout at Tachi Palace Fights 11 “Redemption.”
Promotion officials Monday confirmed the booking to Sherdog.com. Also added to the Dec. 2 event at the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif., was another lightweight affair pitting local favorite Poppies Martinez against former International Fight League talent Savant Young.

Camoes, 32, was bounced from the UFC in March 2010 after losing to Kurt Pellegrino and drawing with Caol Uno. Since then, the powerful Brazilian grappler has won back-to-back bouts at the Tachi Palace, most recently halting the comeback of fellow UFC vet Efrain Escudero with a May unanimous decision.
A 12-year fighting veteran with nearly 50 bouts to his credit, 40-year-old Denny has won only one of his last five starts stretching back to 2008. Denny emerged from a 16-month hiatus in February to draw with Sheldon Westcott, and came up on the losing end of a unanimous decision in a June rematch with the Canadian prospect.
Nicknamed “The Tachi Kid,” Martinez has spent nearly his entire eight-year career competing at the Tachi Palace. The Pro Buhawe representative will make his first appearance since July 2010, when he lost a bid for the TPF welterweight title against current UFC signee David Mitchell.
Young returns to action after more than three years away from fighting. Following a 2-2 run in the IFL, the Los Angeles native traveled to Japan to upset highly regarded Shooto featherweight “Lion” Takeshi Inoue. Young’s most recent bout was a July 2008 submission defeat to world-ranked 145-pounder Mark Hominick.
