‘TUF’ Alums Uriah Hall, Nick Ring to Collide at Inaugural Fox Sports 1 Event in August

A middleweight showdown between Uriah Hall and Nick Ring has been added to the UFC’s Aug. 17 debut on Fox Sports 1.

UFC officials Friday revealed the booking. The event takes place at the TD Garden in Boston and marks the organization’s first trip to Beantown since 2010. As its title suggests, the event airs live on Fox Sports 1 and will feature Alistair Overeem taking on Travis Browne at heavyweight, while Matt Brown duels with Thiago Alves at 170 pounds.

Hall dominated during his time on “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 17, earning three consecutive knockouts to advance to the live finale against underdog Kelvin Gastelum. The Tiger Schulmann product was then upset by his Team Sonnen teammate, however, dropping a split decision to Gastelum on April 13 to snap a three-fight winning streak.

Ring, meanwhile, has posted a 3-2 record since his time on “TUF 11,” earning victories over Riki Fukuda and James Head before stumbling in two of his last three fights. The 34-year-old last competed on March 16, when he relinquished a split decision to former “TUF 11” castmate Chris Camozzi at UFC 158.
