The UFC has trimmed its roster again, recently releasing seven fighters including “The Ultimate Fighter 8” winner Efrain Escudero.

Additionally, Robert Whiteford, Clint Hester, Willie Gates, Dominic Waters, Yan Cabral and Filip Pejic were cut by the Las Vegas-based promotion. Sherdog.com confirmed the releases with a source close to the UFC.

Esudero won “TUF 8” in 2008 but then parted ways with the UFC in 2010 after posting a 3-2 record in the Octagon. He returned to the promotion in 2011 but was released after dropping back-to-back fights against Jacob Volkmann and Mac Danzig. His third UFC stint began in 2014 and saw him win two of his first three fights and serve as a coach Season 2 of “TUF: Latin America.” However, recent decision losses to Leandro Silva and Kevin Lee led to him receiving his third pink slip from the promotion.

All of the aforementioned fighters had lost at least two straight bouts with the exception of Pejic, who suffered a first-round submission loss to Damian Stasiak in his lone Octagon appearance at UFC Fight Night “Rothwell vs. Dos Santos” on April 10.
