Andrew Sanchez threw everything in his arsenal at Ryan Janes. It was not enough.

Janes disposed of the heavily favored former Resurrection Fighting Alliance champion with third-round punches, highlighting “The Ultimate Fighter” 26 Finale prelims on Friday at Park Theater in Las Vegas. Broken by fatigue and an accumulation of damage, Sanchez (9-4, 2-2 UFC) wilted 58 seconds into Round 3.

No one could have foreseen the finish after Janes (10-3, 2-2 UFC) absorbed a hellacious beating in the first round. Sanchez tore into the Canadian with a sustained burst of power punches. Twice “The Ultimate Fighter 23” winner dropped Janes with right hands and swarmed with follow-up punches. However, his inability to close the deal proved costly. Sanchez entered the second round visibly winded -- and vulnerable. A rejuvenated Janes pressed forward, cut off weak takedown attempts and attacked the K Dojo Warrior Tribe rep with punches to the body and head. Early in Round 3, he drove Sanchez to the canvas with a left hook-right cross combination and unleashed a volley of punches to force the unlikely stoppage.

The win snapped a two-fight losing streak for Janes.

Ostovich Armbar Taps Gevorgyan

Invicta Fighting Championships veteran Rachael Ostovich submitted Karine Gevorgyan with an armbar in the first-round of their catchweight encounter at 130 pounds. The first Armenian woman ever to compete inside the Octagon, Gevorgyan (3-3, 0-1 UFC) bowed out 1:40 into Round 1.

Ostovich (4-3, 1-0 UFC) struck for a takedown roughly 40 seconds into the fight and later climbed to the back. Gevorgyan scrambled on top and appeared to be ready to go to work. However, Ostovich isolated her arm, swung her hips into position and cranked for the finish.

Dobson Punches Out Beck

Phalanx MMA rep Shana Dobson took care of Ariel Beck with punches in the second round of their preliminary women’s flyweight affair. Beck (4-5, 0-1 UFC) succumbed to blows 2:53 into Round 2, as she suffered her third consecutive defeat.

The two women fought to a virtual stalemate through the first five minutes, though Dobson landed the more substantive strikes. She was particularly effective with kicks to the lower leg. In the second round, Dobson (3-1, 1-0 UFC) sent a right hook sweeping across her counterpart’s face, followed with a short right uppercut and then connected with a second hook upstairs. Beck hit the deck in visible distress, prompting an immediate stoppage.

Dobson, 28, has recorded back-to-back victories.

Robertson Armbar Submits Whitmire

American Top Team prospect Gillian Robertson submitted Emily Whitmire with an armbar in the first round of their undercard pairing at 125 pounds. Whitmire (2-2, 0-1 UFC) conceded defeat 2:12 into Round 1, as she lost for the second time in three outings.

Robertson (4-2, 1-0 UFC) executed a takedown inside the first minute, scrambled to the back, set her hooks and started hunting the choke. However, Whitmire reversed into full guard, pushed the Canadian to the fence and applied her ground-and-pound. Robertson was not impressed. She wheeled her hips into position, snatched the arm from the bottom and forced the tapout.
