Only one competitor in Thursday’s Tachi Palace Fights 22 headliner will be eligible to win bantamweight gold.

Fabiano Silva da Conceicao came in well over the contracted limit for his showdown with Rolando Velasco, tipping the scales at Wednesday’s weigh-ins at 144.2 pounds. Velasco had no issues, as he checked in at 134.4 pounds. As a result, only Velasco can capture the promotion’s vacant 135-pound strap with a win.

Conceicao, meanwhile, will have to re-weigh on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. If he is more than 150 pounds at that point, the fight will be canceled. Even if the five-round bout does go forward, the Brazilian will forfeit 20 percent of his purse to Velasco. The X-Gym representative known as “Jacarezinho” was a short-notice replacement for the injured Jeremiah Labiano.

TPF 22 takes place at Tachi Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif., on Thursday evening and streams live on Sherdog.com beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The card includes two more championship bouts, as Alex Perez (124.4) meets Anthony Figueroa (123.8) for the vacant flyweight title, while Angel DeAnda (184.4) squares off against David Mitchell (184.4) for the middleweight strap.
