Stephen Thompson Out of UFC Fight Night Main Event Against Brandon Thatch

Stephen Thompson has suffered an injury to his ribs and is in fact out of his UFC Fight Night “Thompson vs. Thatch” main event bout against Brandon Thatch.

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials announced the news during a segment on Fox Sports 1 on Friday. The promotion also added that it is actively searching for a replacement.

The event takes place Feb. 14 from 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo.

This is the second such occurrence to weaken the UFC’s return to Colorado, as a main event bout pitting Matt Brown against Tarec Saffiedine was also cancelled due to injury.
