Spike TV: Bellator 149 Averaged 2 Million Viewers, Peaked at 2.5M with Kimbo-‘Dada’ Bout

Bellator MMA pulled in record ratings with last Friday’s Bellator 149.

Spike TV, which broadcast the Feb. 19 event from Toyota Center in Houston, announced on Monday that the three-hour fight card averaged 2 million viewers, making it the most watched show in Bellator history.

According to Spike, ratings for the show peaked at 2.5 million viewers during the heavyweight co-main event between former street fighters Kimbo Slice and Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris. The popular Slice has been a ratings boon for the organization, having helped set its previous ratings record with 1.6 million viewers for his Bellator 138 bout against Ken Shamrock in June 2015.

The evening’s main event between Shamrock and fellow MMA pioneer Royce Gracie dropped off slightly from its lead-in, drawing 2.4 million viewers.

Bellator 149 was Friday’s top-ranked telecast in MMA’s coveted Men 18-34 demographic, Spike said.
