Second Title Bout Announced for One Championship ‘Defending Honor’ on Nov. 11

One Championship “Defending Honor” will now feature two title bouts, as the Singapore-based promotion announced Thursday that Marat Gafurov will put his featherweight title on the line against Narantungalag Jadambaa in the co-main event.

That contest joins a lightweight championship headliner between Shinya Aoki and Eduard Folyang on the Nov. 11 card. One Championship “Defending Honor” takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.

Four other contests were announced for the card: Eddie Ng vs. Adrian Pang at lightweight; Timofey Nastyukhin vs. Kotetsu Boku at featherweight; Amir Khan vs. Samir Mrabet at lightweight; and Michelle Nicolini vs. Mona Samir at strawweight.

Unbeaten in 14 professional outings, Gafurov initially captured 145-pound gold with a fourth-round submission of Jadambaa in their first meeting last November. The 31-year-old Russian then defended his title with a second-round tapout of Kazunori Yokota at One Championship 43 “Kingdom of Champions.” Ten of Gafurov’s career triumphs have come by way of submission.

The 40-year-old Jadambaa has won two straight fights since falling to Gafurov, besting Boku via submission in May and knocking out Eric Kelly in 44 seconds in July. The Mongolian fighter is 12-4 as a professional overall, with seven triumphs coming inside the distance.
