Ryan Jimmo-Jimi Manuwa Confirmed for UFC Fight Night 30 in Manchester
Unbeaten light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa will have home-field advantage once again when he faces former MFC champion Ryan Jimmo in October.
UFC officials Monday confirmed that the 205-pounders will square off Oct. 26 as part of UFC Fight Night 30 at Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England. The matchup was first reported earlier this month by MMAFighting.com.
London-based Manuwa will look to improve on his perfect 13-0 record in his third UFC appearance on English soil. The 33-year-old made his Octagon debut last September with a second-round TKO of Kyle Kingsbury, and then stopped Cyrille Diabate after one round in February.
Jimmo, 31, strung together an impressive 17-fight winning streak between 2007 and 2012, one which included a 7-second knockout of Anthony Perosh in Jimmo’s UFC debut. The “Big Deal” dropped a unanimous decision to James Te Huna in his next outing, but got back on track in June with a lopsided decision victory against Igor Pokrajac.
