Rousey Agrees to Make Minor Changes to Book, Settles Defamation Suit with Ex-Manager

Ronda Rousey will make minor changes to her autobiography in order to avoid a defamation lawsuit from former manager Darin Harvey.

According to Harvey, President of Fight Tribe Management, Rousey’s autobiography entitled “Rousey: My Fight/Your Fight” defamed him by failing to properly credit him for his role in the Olympic judoka’s career.

“During the four years we worked together, Ronda easily won all her amateur fights, went 8-0 as a professional, became the first woman to sign with the UFC, and landed roles in several feature films,” Harvey said in a statement. “Her book failed to acknowledge the important role I played in all of that and, in my view, defamed me in several respects.”

The release states that Rousey and the book’s publisher will make “material changes to portions of the paperback, ebook and audio book editions and all future printings of the book.”

Rousey’s attorney, Alexander Polyachenko, told Yahoo Sports that the settle was supposed to be confidential but that the alterations to the book “are extremely minor and would not in any way alter the them or flow of Ms. Rousey’s memoir.”

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion settled a managerial dispute with Harvey earlier this year. Rousey initially separated from FTM in March 2014. “Rowdy” has not competed in the Octagon since a second-round knockout loss to Holly Holm at UFC 193 last November.
