Rousey hasn’t competed since losing the bantamweight crown to Holly Holm via second-round knockout at UFC 193 in Melbourne last November. The Olympic judoka has been largely off the radar since then, but late 2016 was long ago mentioned as a target date for her comeback. Prior to facing Holm, Rousey won her first 12 professional appearancse, with all but one of those triumphs coming inside of a round. She owns triumphs over the likes of Miesha Tate (twice), Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis, Liz Carmouche and Sarah Kaufman, to name a few.
Nunes, 28, captured 135-pound gold with a dominant first-round submission victory against Tate at UFC 200. The Brazilian known as “Lioness” has won four straight in the Octagon, including victories over Valentina Shevchenko, Sara McMann and Shayna Baszler.
