Octagon newcomer Roldan Sangcha’an will face Richie Vaculik on short notice in a flyweight contest when the UFC travels to New Zealand on June 28.
Sangcha’an replaces Jon delos Reyes, who was forced to withdraw from the bout due to injury. Promotion officials recently announced the change. UFC Fight Night "Marquardt vs. Te Huna" takes place at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, and is headlined by a middleweight clash between Nate Marquardt and James Te Huna. The entire card will air on UFC Fight Pass, with the first preliminary bout beginning at 2:30 a.m. ET/11:30 p.m. PT.
Nicknamed “The Executioner,” Sangcha’an is unbeaten in four professional fights, finishing two of his opponents by submission and two via technical knockout. The Filipino flyweight last competed in September, when he earned a second-round submission over Ernesto Montilla at Pacific Xtreme Combat 39.
A member of “The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes” cast, Vaculik came up short in his promotional debut, falling to Justin Scoggins via first-round TKO at UFC Fight Night “Hunt vs. Bigfoot” in December. The 30-year-old Australian has been victorious in nine of his 11 professional appearances, with all of his triumphs coming inside the distance.
