Rogers, Shields Join 'EA Sports MMA' Cast

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. -- Brett Rogers and Jake Shields are the latest fighters signed to appear in EA Sports MMA interactive arts video game, announced the gaming purveyor on Friday.

EA Sports MMA will be released in 2010, said the company.

Rogers and Shields both appear on Strikeforce/M-1 Global’s “Fedor vs. Rogers” card this Saturday at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

EA Sports will also unveil a first-look preview of the game during the event’s live broadcast on CBS, which starts at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. The video will feature Saturday’s headlining fighters, Fedor Emelianenko and Rogers.

Rogers and Shields join previously revealed participants and Strikeforce stablemates Emelianenko, Gegard Mousasi, Renato "Babalu" Sobral, and Jay Hieron. Jason Miller and recent Strikeforce signee Muhammed Lawal will also grace the game.

Former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia and Strikeforce middleweights Benji Radach and Tim Kennedy, have also announced their involvement with the game in past interviews.

Also announced on Friday, Strikeforce commentators Mauro Ranallo and Frank Shamrock, as well as ring announcer Jimmy Lennon, will represent their real-life roles in the game.

EA Sports Executive Producer Dale Jackson said the company is still recruiting fighters and personalities for the game, which could include additional international athletes, as well as female fighters.
