Resurrection Fighting Alliance Acquires Titan FC, Nets Fighter Contracts, AXS TV Deal

Resurrection Fighting Alliance officials announced Saturday that the Nebraska-based promotion has acquired the Kansas-based Titan Fighting Championships.

According to the official release, the RFA has obtained certain Titan fighter contracts, as well as Titan’s television deal with AXS TV. As a result, the RFA’s upcoming Nov. 2 show will now be broadcast on the cable network. Titan FC founder Joe Kelly has also signed on with the RFA and will begin working for the promotion in “various roles.”

“I am very excited to be working with the guys at Resurrection Fighting Alliance. I really feel like this is a partnership with all the potential for success,” said Kelly. “We are very like-minded with similar goals. That made this an opportunity I could not pass on.”

Founded in 2006, Titan FC presided over 24 total events, most of which were held at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kan. TFC 25 was expected to take place Sept. 21 in St. Louis, but the show was postponed after inclement weather conditions prevented the use of the planned outdoor venue.

The RFA’s Nov. 2 offering marks the promotion’s first event held in Las Vegas. Headlined by a heavyweight confrontation between UFC veterans Gilbert Yvel and Marcio Cruz, the event takes place at Texas Station and also features a lightweight showdown between two more Octagon vets, as Tyson Griffin faces Efrain Escudero.
