Report: UFC, Nate Diaz Can’t Come To Terms for Conor McGregor Rematch

UFC brass flew to Stockton, Calif., on Friday to discuss a potential Conor McGregor rematch with Nate Diaz, but the two sides were apparently unable to reach a deal.

According to a report from TMZ, a visibly angry UFC President Dana White left the restaurant in the middle of the meeting. However, cooler heads prevailed, as Diaz later posted a picture of himself with White and UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta under a mural of the fighter. However, multiple outlets have reported that Diaz and the UFC could not come to financial terms on a deal.

“Obviously I’m not going to discuss terms of the deal, but let’s just say my trip to Stockton didn’t go well,” White told TMZ.

White and Fertitta also visited with McGregor earlier this week, a meeting the Irishman characterized as ”a good conversation like it always is.”

The target date for the rematch is reportedly UFC 202, which is expected to take place on Aug. 20. Diaz defeated McGregor via second-round submission at UFC 196 on March 5. Their rematch was supposed to take place at UFC 200, but the bout was scrapped when McGregor balked at fulfilling all of his promotional requirements.
