Two women riding in a Toyota Yaris, 67-year-old Emelina Morfa and 76-year-old Emma Suarez Hernandez, were killed in the crash, according to Florida Highway Patrol Spokesman Alvaro Feola. The driver of the Yaris, 67-year-old Mily Vita-Vega, was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood, Fla.
Green, 28, suffered only minor injuries in the crash, as did 23-year-old Armando Alvarez, who was driving an Acura 3.2TL. The northbound lanes of I-75 were shut down for several hours after the crash and weren’t completely cleared until 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
The Floriday State Highway Patrol is investigating why Green lost control of his vehicle.
Green last fought at UFC Fight Night 131 on June 1, when he earned a unanimous decision over Gleison Tibau. “The Predator” is next scheduled to face Mairbek Taisumov at UFC Fight Night 136 in Moscow on Sept. 15.
