Orlando Sentinel, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 21 winner
Kamaru
Usman will take on Leon
Edwards in a welterweight clash at
UFC on Fox 17 on Dec. 19.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s final event of 2015, UFC on Fox 17 goes down at the Amway enter in Orlando, Fla.
The 27-year-old Usman captured the “TUF 21” title with a
second-round submission of Hayder
Hassan on July 12. The
Blackzilians product has a 6-1 professional record.
Edwards (10-2), will enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak. The 24-year-old is 2-1 in the UFC, with wins against Seth Baczynski and Pawel Pawlak. The British welterweight’s lone Octagon loss came against Claudio Henrique da Silva in his Octagon debut.
UFC on Fox 17 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight, as champion Rafael dos Anjos rematches Donald Cerrone. Dos Anjos defeated Cerrone via decision in August of 2013.
