Report: Rafael Dos Anjos Likely to Fight Tony Ferguson in November

An intriguing lightweight bout with plenty of championship implications is rumored to be targeted for November. According to a report from Champions.co, former Ultimate Fighting Championship ace Rafael dos Anjos is likely to face Tony Ferguson on the finale of “The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America 3.”

The event is slated for Nov. 5 in Mexico, though UFC officials have yet to officially announce the matchup.

Dos Anjos captured the 155-pound crown by edging Anthony Pettis over five rounds at UFC 185. The Brazilian successfully defended the belt in spectacular fashion by knocking out Donald Cerrone in the first, but in his most recent outing, dos Anjos was stopped in the opening frame at the hands of former Bellator MMA champ Eddie Alvarez.

Ferguson, meanwhile, has been one of the hottest fighters in the world. “El Cucuy” has won eight in a row and 14 of 15 overall. Lando Vannata fell victim to a second-round brabo choke at UFC Fight Night 91 in July, which the fourth submission win for Ferguson in his last five bouts.
