Brazilian welterweight Paulo Thiago has been released from his Ultimate Fighting Championship contract.

Brazilian outlet Combate initially reported the news.

A veteran of 13 fights inside the Octagon, Thiago debuted for the Las Vegas-based promotion in 2009, winning three of his first four bouts. Over the course of his next nine fights, the Brazilian would only win two more. The 33-year-old is currently mired in a three-fight skid, last competing against Sean Spencer at UFC Fight Night “Bigfoot vs. Arlovski 2.”

The former Jungle Fight competitor also doubles as a member of B.O.P.E., a unit of Rio de Janeiro’s military police squad.
