Takeya Mizugaki will reportedly make the jump to the big show as he squares off against once-beaten Francisco Rivera at UFC Live 3 “Sanchez vs. Kampmann.”
According to a report from MMA Weekly, the pair have agreed to meet at the March 3 event.
Mizugaki looks to erase the memory of his last appearance inside the cage, as the Japanese fighter was destroyed by Urijah Faber in the Team Alpha Male product's debut effort at bantamweight. While Mizugaki has gone just 2-3 in his tenure with the WEC, the former Cage Force bantamweight champion has faced stiff competition in each of his outings. His losses in the organization have come to Faber, Scott Jorgensen and former WEC 135-pound king Miguel Torres.
Though no location or venue has been set for the event, the show is expected to contain a welterweight showdown between the resurgent Diego Sanchez and dangerous Dane Martin Kampmann as well as a middleweight scrap between heavy-handed Italian Alessio Sakara and Chute Boxe product Maiquel Jose Falcao Goncalves.
