Report: Mike Tyson Comes to Aid of Injured Motorcyclist in Las Vegas
A couple weeks after Mike Tyson made headlines for directing a
profanity laced tirade at a Canadian journalist, “Iron Mike” is
back in the news -- this time on a more positive note.
According to a report in the NY Daily News, Tyson assisted 29-year-old Las Vegas resident Ryan Chelsey after a cab cut off his motorcycle and caused him to crash on I-15 North off Flamingo Road on Tuesday night.
According to the report, Tyson and three other friends came to
Chelsey’s aid, blocking off traffic while the former heavyweight
boxing champion attempted to comfort the victim. Chelsey was able
to snap a
cell phone picture of Tyson and provide it to
TMZ.com.
Stephen Stubbs, Chelsey’s attorney, told the Daily News that his client suffered a paralyzed big toe, broken ankle and torn muscles and ligaments as a result of the accident.
“He looked up and saw Mike Tyson,” Stubbs told the Daily News. “He was saying, ‘Don’t worry, don’t worry, people are coming.’”
It is unclear how long Tyson was at the scene. Chelsey later sent Tyson a fruit basket and thank-you note for his kindness.
“Thank you so much for looking over me after my accident,” it read. “It has to be the most reassuring thing in the world to have Mike Tyson telling people not to touch me.”
