Report: McKee-Volkmann Slated for UFC 125

International Fight League veteran and Maximum Fighting Championship lightweight champion Antonio McKee will reportedly make his UFC debut against Jacob Volkmann at UFC 125 in January.

News of the fight was first reported by MMAJunkie.com and MMAWeekly.com, both of which said the fighters have agreed to the contest but that formal contracts haven't been signed as of yet.

McKee, a 40-year-old member of the Bodyshop Fitness Team, will carry a 15-fight unbeaten streak into his UFC debut. His last loss came via decision to UFC veteran Karo Parisyan at an event in February 2003. Since then, he's fought in the King of the Cage, Gladiator Challenge, K-1 Hero's, IFL and MFC promotions and holds wins over Edwin Dewees, Marcus Aurelio, Joe Camacho, Mike Dolce, Derrick Noble and Carlo Prater.

In his last fight at MFC 26 in September, McKee -- who has 18 decisions among his 25 professional MMA wins -- stopped Luciano Azevedo in the first round to defend the promotion's 155-pound title. It was his second submission in as many fights following a run of five straight decisions dating back to February 2007.

Volkmann, a 30-year-old product of the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy, is riding a two-fight win streak of his own. He earned a unanimous decision over Paul Kelly at UFC on Versus 2 in August and before that he eked out a split-decision victory against Ronys Torres at UFC Fight Night 21 in March. Those wins came after he suffered back-to-back losses to weleterweights Paulo Thiago and Martin Kampmann. Those losses led to his drop to the lightweight division and his subsequent pair of wins.

The former wrestler at the University of Minnesota has six submissions among his 11 wins and he started his pro MMA career with nine straight wins before losing to Thiago by unanimous decision at UFC 106 in November 2009.
