Rashid Magomedov-Chris Wade, 2 Other Bouts Set for UFC Fight Night Rotterdam

A lightweight bout pitting Rashid Magomedov against Chris Wade has been added to the UFC Fight Night Rotterdam lineup.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the matchup on Friday. Additionally, Dominic Waters will face Peter Sobotta in a welterweight duel, while Garreth McLellan will meet Magnus Cedenblad in a middleweight tilt at the May 8 event.

Magomedov, 31, has been victorious in 19 of his 20 professional outings over the course of a career that began in 2008. The former M-1 Challenge titlist is 4-0 in the UFC, including a unanimous verdict over Brazilian prospect Gilbert Burns in his last outing at UFC Fight Night “Belfort vs. Henderson 3” on Nov. 7.

A native of Long Island, N.Y., Wade enters the bout on a six-fight winning streak. He has won all four of his Octagon appearances, besting Mehdi Baghdad, Christos Giagos, Lipeng Zhang and Cain Carrizosa in succession.

UFC Fight Night Rotterdam takes place at Ahoy Rotterdam in the Netherlands and is headlined by a heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem and Andrei Arlovski. In the co-main event, Stefan Struve will lock horns with Antonio Silva in another heavyweight matchup.
