UFC champion Jon Jones is still being sought for questioning by police in Albuquerque, N.M., and has officially been named a suspect in an early morning Sunday hit-and-run accident.

The Albuquerque Police Department on Monday released the accident report to MMAJunkie.com. In it, an off-duty police officer describes witnessing Jones flee from the scene of the accident and run up a dirt hill. Other witnesses said that Jones then ran back to his car, grabbed a “large hand full of cash,” stuffed the money in his pants and jumped over a fence.

Inside Jones’ car, according to the report, police found “a marijuana pipe, with marijuana inside of it,” as well as paperwork from the state of Nevada containing “MMA information.”

Police have been seeking Jones for questioning since the time of the accident but have been unable to locate the 27-year-old fighter.

Jones remains scheduled to defend his UFC light heavyweight title against Anthony Johnson on May 23 at UFC 187 in Las Vegas. UFC issued a brief release on Sunday evening stating that the organization is aware that police are looking for Jones.”

“We are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available,” read the statement.
