Paul Taylor Out, Rafael dos Anjos in Against Anthony Njokuani at UFC on Fuel TV 4

British lightweight Paul Taylor has reportedly suffered an injury and will not compete at UFC on Fuel TV 4 against Anthony Njokuani as originally anticipated.

Sherdog.com confirmed Tuesday with a source close to the bout that Njokuani is now expected to face Rafael dos Anjos, though the contest has not yet been made official. Fighters Only first reported the news.

UFC on Fuel TV 4 takes place July 11 at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. The pay-per-view event will be headlined by a pivotal middleweight affair between Mark Munoz and Chris Weidman.

Njokuani, 32, has gone 2-2 in his four Octagon appearances to date. Following a seven-fight stint under the World Extreme Cagefighting banner, “The Assassin” was narrowly outpointed by fellow striker Edson Barboza in his UFC debut last year. Njokuani rebounded with a dominant decision win over Andre Winner last July but was edged by Danny Castillo six months later at UFC 141. Most recently, Njokuani took a unanimous verdict from John Makdessi at UFC 145 on April 21.

Dos Anjos also enters the contest fresh off a win, as the Brazilian submitted Kamal Shalorus just one week ago at UFC on Fuel TV 3. The nine-time Octagon veteran has split his last four bouts after earning a trio of UFC wins, overwhelming George Sotiropoulos last July before falling to Gleison Tibau in a split decision at UFC 139 in November. The 27-year-old has earned half of his career wins by submission and has only been finished twice in his seven years as a professional.
