WTT announced the move, which is effective immediately, in a release on Monday. Over the past four years Silva served as both president of the PFL, which finished its debut season on New Year’s Eve, and as CEO of World Series of Fighting. WSOF was rebranded as PFL after a new ownership group of Washington-D.C.-based businessmen purchased the organization in 2017.

“Tennis has been a cornerstone throughout my life and I look forward to working hand-in-hand with the tremendously talented men and woman at WTT to achieve our common goal of linear and digital growth and promoting WTT’s fantastic format in 2019 and beyond,” said Silva, who played tennis collegiately at Boston College.

PFL has not yet released a statement regarding Silva’s departure. Prior to his tenure with PFL and WSOF, he served as chief operating officer and president of NBCU’s Universal Sports Network, and senior vice president with AOL Time Warner. Silva has production experience in numerous Olympic and international sporting events, as well.

“Carlos has launched, operated and spearheaded the meteoric growth of sports and entertainment media properties for the past 25 years and is a well-respected sports media executive, proven digital leader, and recognized content innovator,” said WTT co-owner Fred Luddy. “We welcome him to our team as we look to continue to attract the best players in tennis, grow our sports league and our digital footprint.”
