Niklas Backstrom will meet Noad Lahat in a featherweight showdown at UFC Fight Night "Gustafsson vs. Teixeira" on June 20.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the pairing on Friday. The UFC Fight Night event takes place at the O2 World in Berlin and is headlined by a light heavyweight clash pitting Alexander Gustafsson against Glover Teixeira.
Backstrom tasted defeat for the first time in nine outings at UFC Fight Night “Nelson vs. Story,” when he was knocked out in the opening stanza by Mike Wilkinson. The Swedish fighter debuted in the Octagon with a first-round submission of Tom Niinimaki last May.
After suffering a knockout loss to Godofredo Castro in his promotional debut, Lahat rebounded to pick up his first Octagon triumph last July, as he outpointed Steven Siler at UFC on Fox 12. “Neo” is 8-1 as a professional, with six wins via knockout, technical knockout or submission.
