Newcomers Richie Vaculik, Justin Scoggins Set for Flyweight Tilt at UFC Fight Night 33

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has injected some new blood into its flyweight division, as officials Tuesday announced that Octagon debutants Richie Vaculik and Justin Scoggins will collide at UFC Fight Night 33.

The event takes place at Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia, and is topped by a heavyweight showdown between striking specialist Mark Hunt and former heavyweight title challenger Antonio Silva.

Vaculik rides a five-fight winning streak into his UFC debut. The once-beaten Australian last competed in April, when he stopped Matt Jaggers with punches under the Australian Fighting Championship banner. The 30-year-old introduced himself to UFC fans last year as a lightweight cast member on “TUF: The Smashes,” falling to eventual winner Norman Parke in the quarterfinals.

Unbeaten in seven pro outings, Scoggins has finished five of his victims by way of knockout. “Tank” most recently fought on June 21, relieving Len Cook of his consciousness with a head kick and punches in the South Carolina-based Warfare Fighting Championships.
