Nate Diaz Blasts Conor McGregor Over Defeat to Floyd Mayweather

Nate Diaz had some pointed words for his rival Conor McGregor on Tuesday.

The Stockton, Calif., native issued a response to a social media post from the UFC that was captioned by the quote, “I never lose, either I win or I learn.” McGregor entered the boxing realm on Aug. 26, losing to pound-for-pound great Floyd Mayweather via 10th round TKO at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“He punched himself out the same way he lost in the UFC there was no learning goin on.. #overpromotion bullshit get off the nuts this the s—t I'm talking about,” Diaz wrote on Instagram.
“Bruce Lee would've never lost like that. #realninjashit”

Diaz and McGregor have squared off twice in the Octagon, with Diaz winning via second round submission at UFC 196 and McGregor taking a five-round majority verdict in their rematch at UFC 202.

While it’s unclear if and when McGregor would return to the UFC, a trilogy bout with Diaz could be one of the most lucrative fights the Las Vegas-based promotion could make. Diaz’s longtime boxing coach, Richard Perez, recently said his fighter would need to make at least $20 million for such a matchup to come to fruition.

Diaz has not competed since falling to McGregor in their rematch on Aug. 20, 2016.
